請問讀Y7 喺咪可以直接考UK 的Y9?

If your kid is in a local school in HK, he should be 13 when he finishes Year 7 (unless he is a very small kid - born after 1st Sept) and therefore he should go straight to Year 9 in the UK schools.
This is because UK kids start school 1 year earlier than HK kids - they enter primary 1 at the age of 5.
So yes, he can.

If skip Y8, the child will feel more difficult to follow the curriculum of Y9?

If they are top students in HK, they should be OK in most subjects - may need extra tuition in English only.

my son was jumping from Y7 to Y9 from HK to UK this year. He is from top band school. For English, he doesn't have problem, even no need to have English tutorial lesson. But he found himself missing some of the basic knowlege (in Y8) of Physics/ Chem / Bio. That's what he told me. I believe with tutorial lesson at HK, he can be able to catch up the missing parts. So for the student jumping from Y7 to Y9 at UK, I suggest them to focus more on the Sci subject during summer vacation time. Or else, English as well, according to your own level.
