You should go and seek for another school immediately.
Consider yourself extremely lucky if you get an offer later.

For the situation in RC, I "heard" that there are:
1) straight in offer
2) second interview in coming Apr (mostly for the applicants who have sibblings in RC)
3) waiting list
4) reject

Therefore, pls prepare your kid for the worst scenario.

You're probably right. My son, sadly speaking, is Case 2. It's quite stressful as we know if he can't make it this time, he might have to wait a year.

My son is a bit "immature". He whined before/during interview (for 10 minutes at least) so I wasn't that surprised with the result. (I couldn't take a leave that day and my husband brought him there. ohhhhhh.....

) Anyway, we will try our best to help him get through the interview in April.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Do you mean you got an offer from RC but waiting for an formal offer from SJS because your offer is waitlisted one?

When I went to interview for the waitlisted offer in late January, I asked the principal the same question. To my understanding, the waitlisted interview only lasted for a few days (26 January should be the last day) and vacancies would be available for waitlisted applicants who passed the interview after receipt of confirmation from 1st round offer on 18 February (I assumed the waiting list is not so long at the moment). But I also noted from other forum that the order of this waiting list has not yet been fixed. The successful applicants for waitlisted offer still needed to wait for several rounds.

I am really confused. The staff of SJS also could not tell at the moment.

Just receiving RC's reminding email, the principal said -

We understand that you may have alternative choices and might decline our offer. Should it be the case, kindly could you please reply to this email and indicate your refusal. There are nearly 100 lovely kids who are currently on the wait list for places. Your timely reply will be highly appreciated by us as well as those parents.

I will probably decline the offer as I will take DC at the moment while pending SJS.

It really hard to tell for RC, it really depends on your position on the waitng list. But I guess the chance of getting SJS's offer is higher.

But the Principal told me that RC will has a higher chance than SJS. I will be very happy if I can get a SJS offer finally.

Perhaps I have misunderstood you. I don't know which one has a higher chance but to get an offer in RC is not easy nowadays, given the growing demand of IS places, particularly in the New Terrritories.

I've got the offer from CAIS.
I asked RC but they said that can't tell the waitlist number over the phone but for sure not the top 10

RC confirmed my acceptance by email this morning. They said they will send out the document and I need to pay the deposit by 2.28.2011.

Received an offer call from SJS yesterday. WIll choose between DC and SJS...

For me,though I don't know much about DC, I am fond of its study environment and its teaching approach. I think my girl will have happy time there and can boarden her horizon. T

如 on SJS waitlist, 是不是both Cat 1 & Cat 2 kids are on the same waitlist (or they are totally separate?) and the priority of finally getting an offer is purely depending on the "scrores" that the kids were given during the interivew screening ? 今年競爭是否很激烈 (我絕對相信是!), 但好似很多SJS waitlists were recently given a place - 是否真的很多家長最後放棄SJS offer而騰出學位for waitlist - 原因是什麼?

如比較SJS and RC, believe parents (who have got double offer) will naturally choose SJS, then why parents finally chose to give up the place ??

If you are given double offer from both SJS and RC, what would you choose, what are the reasons and what do you consider in terms of strong academic background, stong communcation/interpersonal skills, more out-of-the-box thinking, standard of mandarin and maths, etc ? Which school has more advantages in these aforesaid areas ?? Heard that kids from RC do not generally speak fluent English as compared to those in kids - is it because RC allows kids to freely speak English during their play time in the campus whereas it is strictly NOT allowed in SJS campus ?

They are on the same waitlist, but the place on the waitlist is sorted according to Category and priority also after the interview.

Like in any IS, teachers respect and nurture a child's first language, whether it is cantonese, chinese or not. They don't restrict what children speak out of the classroom. Of course, main communication language would be english in the classroom and with teachers.

已我所知SJS是很多家長的心儀國際學校, 同時每年競爭是十方激烈 ("CAT 2 kids & non-ESF kinder" on waiting even though they were successfull at the interview would not be given an offer), 但好似今年很多SJS waitlists (including CAT 2 & non-ESF kinder) were recently given a place - 是否真的很多家長最後放棄SJS offer而騰出學位for waitlist - 原因是什麼?

Which SIS and RCHK will give more strong academic result plus good communication & interpersonal skills ? If you have a choice, which SIS or RCHK you will choose and what is the main reason ?
