除了聖誕期間開始挑選了成績好的第一輪interview外, 有沒有人知道第二輪(普通人)開始了嗎?

I've heard that they just choose around 500 boys for interview, not all.

I am not sure about the number this year, but it was around 1,000 applicants last year according to the information booklet published by Ming Pao.

I think it should be around 2000. I submit the form one day before the last submission day. I got a number 19XX, so most probably, it's around 2000.

I submitted application for my son on the 1st day of the last week. App No. is 14XX

Have to know the starting number for estimating how many applicants actually. So anyone here who submitted the application on the 1st day?

唔駛抱太大希望，DBS唔係想像中咁好啫！咁大鼻！畢業生普遍給人較寸的印象；成績好係因為中一收生成績佳所致。

I agreed with some of your points, like some DBS boys 大鼻, 寸....

But only 40~60 out of 240 can get in from F1, others are come from DBSPD or DPS. How can you say their excellent performance come from F1 intake???

Those 40~60 most are come from special talents in sports or music. Of course some are also very good in academic results as well, but only minority; most of them are not excellent in their academic results.

Agreed.
Even band 1 students from Chinese primary schools have to work hard in order to get good results in EMI schools. If one does not work hard, band 1 primary students' academic results would be worse than band 2 hardworking students.

Then what's the reason for applying DBS for your son?

Did your son get a chance to have interview on 19 next Saturday?

你的資料從何而來，就我現在收的料，本校全級２０名內已知：有申請DBS的同學已經被取錄。有一名樂器達演奏級的同學亦被取錄。唔收精英，邊有咁醒；睇埋視學報告，更加唔會入DBS。

小兒申請這所貴族學校，純粹襯熱鬧，如果見埋我呢個家長，肯定唔會獲取錄。

My son study there. Some of the boys entered at F1 have HK ranking incertain ECA, but very poor in studying even with remedial classes tailor-made for them.

Pls reread my post, the 40~60 are excellent in ECA majority. They can't make the academic result of DBS excellent base on 20 boys from your son's school. Simple weighted average concept.

In 2010 HKGCEE:

204 students took part and a total of 332 distinctions and 763 credits were gained.  The passing rate  is 89.2%.  21 students were admitted to Universities through Early Admission Scheme 拔尖。

Don't think the result is bad.

Most top-notched schools have eite classes like LSC, SPCC, DGS etc.  Don't think it is bad as students of the same rank will be put together in a class and teachers can teach them according to their standard.  In DBS, if students are in ordinary classes, there are split classes for them as well.  Better resources are used to teach these students.

In DBS, there are students who are good academically, or in music or in sports aspects.  It provides a ground for them to develop their talents in different fields.  My kid and I like this school very much.

視學報告是2008~2009年的, 但2010年DBS的credits分佈是否都集中在精英班

~~~ 1位同學取得7個A 和 7位同學,每人有1個A好大分別

如果DBS收個band3生，可以訓練成band１生，我就真的寫個服字喇．．．

Yep, same as Jjai described. For the Cantonese part, my son read a Chinese passage (with quite a few difficult words) and then answered some questions.

i called and asked, the school replied that there will NOT be any second-interview.

she just ask me to wait for the result.
