標題: 終於排到Victoria PlayGroup, 不過唔知讀唔讀? [打印本頁]

足足排左一年報讀星期六PlayGroup。剛剛收到電話話二月份有位, 一個月學費都成千銀, 不過由於二月份得3個星期, 而自呀B有一個星期interview, 三月份雖然有四個星期, 但呀B又有二個interview, 實際二、三月返得二星期, 好似唔低, 請問妳地意見讀唔讀?

你本身有冇番緊playgroup ? 如果有又覺得好咪繼續讀, 如果冇又排左咁耐終於有位, 我會試下o羅, 最多覺得唔好咪唔讀o羅. 我都有排victoria, 不過仲未排到, 分分鐘等到阿囝讀N1先有位, 咁就慳番.

恭喜樓主，終於排到，我阿b 9m時報，宜家19m都未有消息。

我諗讀唔讀好睇你想唔想入victoria，如果維記唔係target，就睇吓時間就唔就到同埋宜家有冇合適既playgroup 上緊。講真如果真係call我，讀唔讀都係5:5波，因為我報嗰間唔近屋企，而且現在有2個唔錯既playgroup上緊，加上我都未必in維記.....不過等咗咁耐先排到，都可能想八卦吓上一個月

不如你問吓上唔到堂，補堂既安排係點？

..聽妳地講我應該都讀Victoria, 返正都係幾個月, 好與唔好都有個回憶

We have waited for around 14 mths to get a place. Since we joined the class, we almost absent 2 lessons out of 4 every month because of interviews and holidays (including public holiday or Victoria's own holidays for interview for K1, etc.) and will surely continue until March as we will have interviews coming up.

It is nothing special, as what I previously saw in BK mammys' comment, well, he may learn to sit still to listen to teacher reading story books for a while (he has an active boy), dance with song, have snack time, do some painting, but.....I do think many other pgs (as compared with those my friends join) can do much better.

The point is, if you want to get a higher chance to get a PN place, you need to "put on effort" on it.

Surely no make up class for sick leave or apology or holidays.

But it is heard their PN, K1 to K3 is much better campared with their playgroups ger.

It is not my first choice, I wish I can get offers from the schools I want, yet it is one of the top 5 choice in my list...so no choice, but "neccesary" to continue.

剛打去再問details, 原來佢話Victoria PG只有上康, 真有點失望, 因為我曾經參觀過下康, 好鐘意來裡環境, 又方便我, 而家好似比人騙左入山區, 好似唔見得人咁, 真係再三考慮..

Yes ah, Victoria PG只有上康 & "chung"康 , 下康is only for K1 to K3. They mention it when we enrolled

我自己就覺得幾好,之前小女在hg上pg,同主任吹水得知其實佢課程背後考慮好多野,eg,用乜故事書,茶點食乜,不過邊個老師都好重要.但如果放假你會覺得5底,咁入左你可能會5開心,因為你小朋友有少少鼻水都會叫你5好返

I heard quite a bit of bad comments from their playgroup - but people register mostly want to go into their PN.

The reality is:
1. PN don't accept small B anymore starting from this year - so for small B - this strategy does not work.
2. If you go only for Sat class, you should not have the hope of a better chance to get into PN - only the 3 days/5 days babies will have higher chance. The school claim that they know the babies ability well from playgroup observation - so interview performance don't count too much.

我兒之前在HG那邊上Victoria的pg，都差不多上左成年，只上星期六，我自己又幾喜歡。可能因為那裡教pg的中英文老師都好有經驗，會教我點deal with我的小朋友(因為我的小朋友好動坐唔定)，而且我想俾小朋友有返學的感覺，會有音樂堂、勞作、茶點、Free play，最緊要係我兒返得開心。

不過如果樓主的小朋友已經21個月大，咁唔玩得幾耐，因為維記pg是到2歲為止，可以寫信要求玩多3個月，咁即係樓主小朋友最多玩得6至7個月。

perhaps each branch can have their own admission policy. we were told by vic staff that pg students would not be given priority but pn will automatically be offered a place to k1. A fd in the sat pg was accepted to the pn but my girl didnt get an offer to the pn despite all pg teaching staff like her, think it was because she is shy and was v nervous during the interview.

anyway despite we like the pg in vic, it was not our choice for kg and pn.

agree, daughter of my hb's younger sister got a place at PN and K1 and she only joined Sat playgroups only. As PN interviews test same activities as what they do in pg, so many babies can do so they have higher chance to get a place in PN.

But my baby progress is too slow, with a bit improvement, and we always absent for class due to interviews so having 2 class a mth max, and he can't do many "actions" as taught in PN, so I don't expect he can pass the interview.

How do you define small b and big b, my baby is borned in Jun, so should be treated as small b? But many other schools accept those borned before Aug for enrollment, so I used to think he is big b, but not having good chance compared with those borned in Jan 09 la.

Anyway, I have 3 others schools for higher priority, so just let see what happens la.

agree, they won't let us in if they have flu or cold. And we almost have no class in Oct/Nov and this March as we have PN interview.

She told me it is not very worth to study actually, but only for the NAME. ...

But I heard they will spend some time for English wor, and more in K1. Daughter of my hb's younger brother is now in K1, and she can speak English ah. My baby has pg also, and there are Englsih story times.

But whether it worth or not, there are too many factors. If for Eng and PHT, I know many school, even Cannan (mother language), Think (PN with little time for Eng and PHT), LH (little time for Eng), so don't expect get many time spending to teach Eng in PN in most school.....esp. York, I think.

I apply when my baby is borned and get the birth cert. as many told me it needs a year for waiting list
