Hi all,

My kid is a K3 student and I plan to knock door in coming June for P1 schools.

Currently don't have any exams and prizes on hand. Wanna to know which exams are useful?

For English, Cambridge YLE Starter? If I teach myself, roughly how long it is necessary to prepare for the exam?

Is there any other alternatives to YLE Starter?

For Putonghua, is there any oral/ pinyin exam for K3 or P1 kid?

And how about Maths? Any good ones to recommend?

If for YLE Starter, the cert. will be issued 1 month after the exam, so your kid has to join the exam early May. You've only got around 4 months to train him up...If his English ability is good and willing to spell, should be ok.

You may otherwise pick Trinity course and exam, but the emphasis is more on speech, drama and presentation, etc.
