Dear Parents

Any DGS parents can tell us the English level of P1 for the school? such as composition/comprehension etc, and is there any English book list ? thanks for your sharing

POST 得出黎的，都係經過 tutor/家長/老師的 "潤筆"，不能作準。

但話說回來，dgs 學生英文的確唔錯。
我仔女讀國際學校，不會說廣東話，
在一個場合，只有 dgs 的女孩，肯/敢和我仔女談話，其他也是名校的學生，好多都答唔上咀。

另外，我有朋友的女兒讀 dgjs，佢話可能其他人目光都放在 "英文" 上，但佢反而覺得 dgjs 的中文老師真的很好。

這些作文是在課堂上作的, 要計分的, 家長想參與也難!
至於老師修改, 會有, 但不多, 可能是串錯字, 又或少許文法等, 因為不是全部作文都會刊登在學校網頁, 所以老師會揀選不怎麼需要修改的文章去post。因此, 你所看到的基本上已屬原創作品。

DGJS英文當然有一定的程度，但若果說“只有 dgs 的女孩，肯/敢和我仔女談話，其他也是名校的學生，好多都答唔上咀。”那樣對其他學校都不太公平，相信就算全塲都是說廣東話，也不一定所有人都會一起談話，只能說那位DGJS的女孩和你的孩子較投緣吧！

Any tips on how to prepare our girls to DGS P1, esp English? any books to read and lessons to take? are all DGS p1 girls can talk fluent English? I understand that many DGS parents speak English to their girls, but I do not do so, a bit worried , pls advice

署假和朋友到一度假村度假，也見有幾對香港夫婦，全程用英文和孩子交談，孩子一走開，即刻轉台。

朋友說，就算外國XBC，也對香港可學中西文化的環境流口水，咁教仔，太可惜了。我說，別說中國文化，太遠了，但他們的爺爺、嫲嫲、公公、婆婆又怎和孩子相處呢？

I agree, we are chinese and we must learn our own language and culture, we should no longer be proud of being unable to speak Chinese. But having said that, English is of utmost important for us to reach out to the world.

Any suggestion on how to equip our kids for p1 at DGS? Many parents hire native speakers to teach their kids, but it is very expensive, any thoughts pls?
