DBS/DGJS感覺上風格較強，畢業生個style好突出，唔知對學校歸屬感會唔會更強？

很好運兩年前也遇到同樣問題﹐最後選擇了DGJS﹐因為囡囡屬於活躍形﹐坐唔定。回想起來﹐我覺得我的選擇絕對正確。DGJS是一間最似international school 嘅local school﹐學校風氣好自由﹐學生可以發揮所長﹐讀得好開心。DGJS D 學生真係好叻﹐但都幾頑皮﹐好鐘意“嘴不停”﹐見解多多。所以比較文靜內向嘅小朋友未別適合。

文靜學生可能較適合SPCC，運動型小朋友去DBS/DGJS可能會有更大發揮。SPCC很著重音樂, 學生未必文靜架, 很多都好"活潑", 小朋友嘛!

DBS/DGJS感覺上風格較強，畢業生個style好突出，唔知對學校歸屬感會唔會更強？感覺SPCC較低調.

其實這三間學校都收了很多叻學生, 感覺SPCC有較多大仔大女.

對﹐DGJS確實收好多細女。我女兒係大女﹐但大部分同學都細過佢﹐有些細足足一年。我識有3個今年剛入DGJS的小朋友﹐都是細女。我覺得Mrs. Dai是最肯收細女的校長﹐只要佢確定小朋友適合便可。

小女幸運地今年收到這兩間學校的offer，正面對同樣的問題，好似好多人都覺得女仔DGJS好d, 但除了名氣，學業成積和運動外，學校的品德教育如何？同學間的競爭大嗎？是否100%升DGS?請指教，謝謝！

May I pls ask - does DGJS has a lot of homework? I got a friend's daughter who is in P3 who does homework everyday till 11pm. I am not sure whether she is slow / not efficient ( I didn't ask...) or the workload is really that high?

Other then that concern, I am sure that it is a very well rounded and good school. The video that we saw at 1st interview was really impressive. I know many graduates from the school and they are all very focused, organized and confident.
Although the subjects are taught in English, the Chinese from DGJS is not easy either. So there is no need to worry that the girl's Chinese will suffer.

I have had friends who gave up SPCC for DGJS, and vice versa. So it really depends on what suits your kid the best. SPCC is a Co-ed school and although it's a Chinese based learning school, the English is not easy either. The standard is high. It's a loving and caring school.

It's a tough decision to make, but it's also a very good trouble to have!

兩間都注重品德教育．SPCCPS在德育培養方面做得很出色，conduct差隨時升唔到SPCC架．

DGJS同學間的競爭是有的．只要是良性的，競爭又何妨? 小女甚少提及同學的成績，亦不喜歡是是非非，所以跟同學相處十分融洽．

據知DGJS學生可100%升DGS．曾見到個別學業有困難的學生，或打算出國留學的學生會中途轉讀國際學校．

DGJS小三好少功課架喎！平均1 – 1.5小時應可做完．

DGJS和SPCCPS的中文都比以往深了！

Fully agree with twokidsmum. DGJS比我想象中少很多功課。每日很快便可做完。平日測驗考試也不難應付﹐一年兩次考試﹐考完試才放假﹐所以聖誕﹐新年和暑假都可以玩到顛。

Of course! Imagine everyday travel for 1.5 hrs+ before going home...and wake up at 6am just to be able to catch the school bus at 6:30am. Traveling time is definitely one of my concerns. Also, these schools prefer quite a lot of parental volunteering. For example, for SPCC, there is reading mum, lunch mum, library duty etc. Of course these are all volunteer work and it's not a must, but if you wish to participate more in the school, it's more convenient if you live closer.

i had an idea to let my daughter to switch to SPCC last yr but this was not done finally.

It seems that quite a lot of parents will opt for SPCC rather than DGS/DBS. Personally, I prefer DGS than SPCC due to:
1) English primary school
2) More freedom (I compare secondary school only from my personal and my friend's experience)
3) Most SPCC student and parent have its own circle of friends. SPCC accept more "Blue Blood" student than DGJS. I did not mean those artist and major governtment officer. Those "Blue Blood" which is very low profile but it is not easy to join their circles.
Although my child did not get both offers, if I have the choice, I will opt for DGS.

Personally I prefer SPCC because:
1) It is a Chinese primary school but with a very high standard in English
2) It is a co-educational school
3) The students as well as the parents tend to be more humble & low profile whereas the students & parents of DGS / DBS tend to be more aggressive & high profile (You can see this in speech & music festivals where SPCC students tend to be more gracious in defeat & less 'in your face' in victory) - whatever outsiders' impression of it being a 'blue-blood' school, I have yet to meet a SPCC parent with his / her nose in the air - most are very pleasant & friendly.

I know a friend also switched her daughter from DGS to SPCC last year ( secondary school) because she likes that SPCC has IB program.
