St Mary is stronger than Sacred Heart. Maryknoll is more famous than St Mary.

Of all four, I will rank Maryknoll as the first - most famous of all. But academically - St mary could be better.

Depends on which aspect.

For academic,
1. Good Hope is definitely the best and hardest.
2. Maryknoll = Sacred Heart (encourage reading but math is weak)
3. St Mary (well balanced but many students are sub-standard; and it is a Chinese media school)

For 課外活動,
1. St Mary (good encouragement)
2. Maryknoll = Sacred Heart (both have not many choices)
3. Good Hope (most sudent can join 1 activity only)

St Mary's English standard is good. They have good English and English literature teachers. Their English books are always more difficult than other schools for the same level (i.e., P1 students using P2 English books).

Maryknoll is the most famous one among all of them and is the only one which use English as a medium of instructment for all subjects.

Sacred Heart and Good Hope are in the same level for their primary education. However, the secondary education in Sacred Heart is a bit higher than that of in Good Hope.

Academically, St. Mary's is a bit higher then the above-mentioned two. However, I forsee that St. Mary's academic result in the secondary school will drop to a certain extend after one-dragon. Will Sacred Heart and Good Hope chase up? Who knows?

At the moment, I rank:

Maryknoll --> St. Mary's --> Sacred Heart--> Good Hope

After one-dragon of St. Mary's

Maryknoll --> Sacred Heart / St. Mary's --> Good Hope

1. The English standard of St Mary Primary is definitely higher than other average schools in HK. (I am talking about its standard, not the actual performance of the girls!)

2. Maryknoll and SH have better intake. The girls generally have better performance in speaking and writing English. By the way, yes, Maryknoll uses pure English to teach all subjects expect Chinese, PTH and PE.

3. But Good Hope is apparently the highest academic standard among the four, in particular English, Chinese and Math! It is a private school and have good intake. And the girls generally perform better because many of them work hard hoping to jump to DGS/DGJS, Maryknoll, SPC, SPCC, intl schools, etc. Good Hope Secondary may perform average in HKCEE, not because of it primary school's standard, but because many of its top girls have "jumped" to other elite secondary schools before HKCEE!

4. Trust me - I know quite many girls studying/studied in these 4 primary schools (including my daughter and daughters-in-law and friends' daughters). I have seriously compared their books, exam/test papers, syllabuses, school annual reports, book list, marking schemes, the gilrs' actual performance, public awards and their "paths" to universities.

5. Be honest, I don't think these four schools are the best in Hong Kong. Besides English, the general performance in public competitions of them are not quite outstanding. Academically, some private primary schools have better performance than theirs, in my opinion.

6. I am not biased to any schools but just telling my observation and judgement.

本人眼見好多名校每年不斷“西”走學生，又不斷招攬抽班生，使學校成為高材生集中地，這種做法並非代表學校能出產好學生。何謂有教無類呢？

Your explanations are really inspiring. How about DGJS, MARYKNOLL and MARYMOUNT then ? How would you rank them ? If you need to make a choice, which one would you prefer ?
