我個囡係1月出世,我早一年已報名,唔知關唔關事, 我個囡好怕羞, 係陌生人面前起碼WARM UP 30分鐘先答人問題, 所以我其望唔高, 當俾佢攞個經驗, 你地仲報左邊間IS, 你地點解會選CDNIS? 我當初覺得校舍環境唔錯又有中文學, 見到D學生都幾有discipline, 但最近聽人講佢地學術上唔夠GSIS, CIS 好, CDNIS 出名係ART,唔知點算,真係煩惱!!!

The first group interview started on Jan 5. The admissons assistant will take you from general office to library. Children can read book to wait for the teachers. Teachers come to library to take children to classroom for interview. Parents can stay at library to wait for children or going to cateen to have coffee break.

I think it is a group interview. 3 to 4 children in a group with 2 teachers. Parents stay in the library or canteen. We didn't know where is the interviewing room. The key point is children are willing to follow teachers to interviewing classrooms.

Did you brief your kid before the interview?

very bad experience....

my boy started crying when i tried to leave the classroom, the teacher asked us to leave the room, the teacher at the corridor said give us 5 mins to calm him down. my boy did stop crying but he still wanted to hang on with us a bit, then another teacher (looked more senior) told my hubby that my boy was not ready for the interview and asked us to submit application again.

this also happened to 2 other kids in my son's group, total we got 4 kids in a group, at least 3 of us were being told "not ready for interview & apply again"

i saw at least 2 kids in other group got the same message from the "senior teacher"

staff there were not helpful and friendly....

anyway, good luck to you all!

I'm sorry to hear that.

My girl might just like your kid.

That means they don't want the crying children. I know they are looking for indenpendent and smart kids. Crying itself doesn't mean stupid or denpendent.

If the teachers you met are not friendly, I guess others are the same.

當日情況係: 家長係房等, 小朋友 (4個一組), 跟2個外籍老師去另一地方面試, 我問返我個囡問咩題目, 佢話去左玩滑梯, 之後去睇故事書, 故事內容講巴士, 其他佢就答我唔到. 約45分鐘左右, 出黎佢已經好疲倦. 我其望唔高, 因今年有400人, 但只有40個位.

下個月先IN? 非常容易, 佢叫得你去IN多數都OK, 不過唔知關唔關我早報名既關係, 我2年前已報左名, 當日我都係無去, 小組6人IN, 家長同一房, 2個老師同小朋友玩及問問題, 家長就同校長傾計, 過程約20分鐘, 校長只問了我老公個囡讀邊間就問完啦, (可能本身讀國際學校都無咩大問題) 因聽見佢問其他家長有否在家講下英文, 學校驚小朋友未能適應, 因佢地全英語上堂. 另一邊先生就叫小朋友拍下手, 拍下頭咁, 我個囡又唔SO人, 之後老師搵香蕉, 蘋果咁問下小朋友係咩, 我個囡又答得好快喎. 第2日就收到電話話收我個囡上午下午都得, 仲要一星期內覆及俾$10200 DESPOIT, 到最後我都無俾, 因較喜歡CDNIS, 如果到時CDNIS話收我個囡, 咁果$10000 就無左啦. 3月又要去IN GSIS, 你個囡仲有無IN另一間TIM呀?

KCIS打電話比我時話淨係得下午班，問我in唔in，梗係in左先算。

CDNIS咁難入，要評估小朋友咁多野，仲要自己入課室in，我真係無信心！

我個女3月3號都in GSIS喔，你幾多號in？

話時話，你無比一萬蚊，應該有back up，而家讀緊個間係back up？

Kingston 都唔錯呀, 又有一條龍, 妳都唔使太擔心呀, 我下個BB都想報Kingston呀, 不過有D遠, 我住港島區呀, 你點睇間學校呀? 小朋友係咪都可講流利普通話同英文呢? 我上星期去Victoria school visit, 見老師及小朋友都以 Cantonese 為主,問個校長問題, 佢樣樣都好似夢查查咁, 所以對間學校印象麻麻. 所以下個BB會 Kingston or Woodland

我個女幾個月大時報名，但係都排唔到一歲班，只係排到兩歲下午班！

自從個女出世，我同老公都係同佢講英文，識聽普通話多過廣東話，但大部分都明白既。其實佢六個月大開始係Tutor Time讀，聽慣普通話，由細聽到大，聆聽能力ok，加上我識普通話，曾有一段時間同佢講普通話。
佢既同學較少全英，大部分都係以廣東話為主，但係當然會聽得明英文，會講英文，我聽到D媽媽同小朋友講廣東話多。

我無去到小學部既開放日，係米大部份學生都係講英文？口音都ok?

Hi Kiki, I am also targeting the same schools for my boy although he is 2 years younger than yours. Since you mentioned the CIS, if you child gets accepted will you transfer to CIS after spending one year with cdnis? I wonder having one year at the cdnis will help with CIS admission....As for esf, which one did you apply and is your child in cat1 or 2? Thanks.

說起面試，還真要謝謝你呢！你的經驗給了我提示，女兒也由爸爸帶去面試呢！

尋日好順利，佢肯拖老師手跟佢走(無小朋友喊)，足足見左45分鐘，佢第一個返圖書館，見到爸爸好開心。

我問佢係裡面玩咩，佢淨係話我知畫畫，用普通話數數，爸爸話有一個中國人老師，唔知係唔係普通話老師。問佢有唔同老師講野，佢話有，但就講唔出講左咩！總之佢好開心！

佢唔喊真係好好，都起碼有D希望，但咁多人爭咁少位，無咩期望！

15 Feb: 2:00pm or 3:00pm

As mentioned before, my boy was not even got a chance to the CDNIS interview becoz he was crying at the site.....

to answer your question, if my boy was accepted by CDNIS, i will keep him studying in this school but not transferring to others (if everything goes smoothly)

for ESF, i applied TY but we were CAT2, not being invited to the play visit...just keep on queuing in the waiting list

我地好好彩呀, 因本身係3月2日1點半, 之後我地怕佢未訓醒改左2點半, 2點半去到佢又話收唔到我地通知改左2點半, 佢地話人手唔夠叫我地3號再去過, 點解我話好彩呢, 因為果日亞囡無訓晏覺, 去到好眼訓,之前唔肯食飯我又話佢幾句, 攪到佢心情唔好, 去到死都唔出聲又唔玩, 第日上午就唔俾佢返學, 一早同佢去跑, 跑到疲倦,食飽去訓, 訓醒之後先去, 心情超靚, 面試時就唔知佢有無出聲, 不過走時都肯同先生再見, 返到屋企(當然我又無去啦) 佢只係答我 no story time !

上次你囡囡都唔喊呀, 仲咩今次又喊既? 你去左? 咁有無多一次面試機會呀?

我個女in 8:00am，好早，七點出門口，佢有D眼訓！
不過其實我覺得佢應該唔眼訓，之前個晚八點三就訓著左，訓到第二朝六點，平時都係咁。

我老公覺得D安排唔好，個職員帶所有人(大人和小朋友)先穿過面試課室，然後說「If ur kids want to paly u can let them play.」，如果我老公知道個間係面試課室，一定會想盡方法令佢留係度，而唔會比佢跟住去家長等候既課室囉！一比佢跟住，邊肯再走開！所以有三個小朋友都唔肯再入去！

唔喊而又肯入去已經好好啦，如果我個女肯入去我就滿足架啦！

我個女inCDNIS時肯拖老師手去面試45分鐘，我同老公都已經好開心，心裡已經當佢得左架喇，因為佢平時係唔會架！，有好結果當然好開心，無都唔會太傷心。

我記得佢係parent info day講左無得改時間架，再加上信裡亦有提到家長不可改時間，所以佢比你之後一日去in真係好采！

I have not yet received any letter from CDNIS but I have received a reject letter from GSIS soon after the interview. I bear no hope in CDNIS as the competition is so keen.

Anyway, my girl will go to ICS next academic year.

Hi newmama, I have limited knowledge on ICS. Just learnt from the website, they have pretty good university placements. I jot a email to the admission office but nobody replied. May I know do they teach Chinese? And I supposed I have missed the application deadline, right? Is it also very difficult to get a seat? Thanks.

hi newmama, may I ask you if you're a christian or not? when did you get the notice from ICS? I'm still waiting for the result but I guess chances are very slim because our family is not a christian family.... : (

I guess it is over this year and places should be full. For the first round interview, they have invited about 60 children (the lady there told us)and of course some of them can not get a seat or rejected the offer and a second round interview has been held in the early March (some of my friends' kid and my girl's schoolmates attend it)and they received the result yesterday.

I guess it is easier to get a place when comparing with CDNIS and GSIS as so many people applied this
two school.

The lady told us that the application is about 200 competing for 60 seats. A man there told my friend that the children invited to be interview are most likely get a seat as they just want to check children.

The bad thing is that they will not invite all the children to go to the interview. The staff will first scan the application form and choose a number of children only.

If your kid is a small kid u can try again next year as they do not accept small kid though they do well in the interview!

My girl's schoolmates will try again next year as they were born in August.

I'm not a Christian and my two friends(their girls got accepted ) are not Christian too!

Mine is the first round interview and I received the e-mail on the first day of March. But I guess u should have received a call or letter from ICS as there are three families received call or letter from ICS yesterday.
