My daugther will be back to Hong Kong next year after summer. She is now studying at international school in China. Is there any existing parents of ISF who can share their experience of the school? My daugther will be year 4 next year.
Thanks.

You may find Gweipo's blog (at gweipo.com) useful.

Can we apply ISF if my child is studying in local kindergarten K3?
Is there a better chance to get into ISF if we buy debenture?
Thank you.

Thank you, Tingtingting. Gweipo's blog is very interesting. I was surprised to read from the blog that the homework at ISF seems to be quite demanding. My daugther has homework once a week and can finish in a morning over the weekend.
It's hard to find a school place in Hong Kong for my children who can only study in international schools. They learn Simplified Chinese and will not be accepted by local schools. I prefer international schools which put equal emphasis on Chinese and English, at least for the primary years. I will try ISF.
As for my son, he will be at Grade 8 next year. He can read and write Chinese but has dropped this subject for Spanish. Do you know if there is any schools in Hong Kong with Spanish as a subject?
Thanks again.

Yes, you can apply Grade 1.
The debenture is too expenvise. I didn't buy the debenture for my son. I don't know the chance to get in for the debenture holder.

Please note ISF is not using Simplified Chinese for Chinese.

In that case, my daugther will have a hard time shifting from Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese. Let me think about this first.

First of all, I don't think ISF is listed as IS in HK, is it? Actually, the majority of the IS in HK are using simplied Chinese but if you ONLY want ISF, then that is a different story.原帖由 happyeasy 於 10-12-15 17:19 發表

Perhaps you should try Singapore International School which gives equal emphasis on Chinese (simplified).
But its workload is probably just as tough as local schools!

True that ISF is not just another international school. And I tend to agree that it's not for everyone. Those who are interested in ISF should conduct their own DD.

Sorry, bad habit. DD = due diligence.

I heard that it is getting more and more difficult to get in these days.
