今個星期六會去interview, 你地對呢間學校有無評價?

My son studied N1 in March 2010 for 4 months, they have net teacher teaching everyday, my son can speak some English after school, I think that is a good school. The teachers are nice even my son cried for almost one month.

My son studies in their playgroup and the NET teacher teaches the class. I am impressed because the teachers are very good and with patience even my son is very naughty and still crying/screaming during class for the first month.

今日終於interview左, 雖然我唔知個女得唔得, 但interview個過程好開心, 因個teacher係比個小朋友自由發揮, 唔使不停咁做指示,
問家長野就好似傾計咁, 冇壓力.......

we also went for interview yesterday! initially i applied becoz i read some good comments from magazine, just wanted to try n see! n i thought of skipping the interview since my girl already got an offer elsewhere, but finally we still decided to go!

Luckily we went - we found it quite good, spacious, cleann the teachers are very caring n nice! forgot to ask how many children they are taking for N1, hope my girl will be accepted!

I ask the teacher how many student they would take...But, she said they hadn't decided. I think they should see how many students can up to their standard.... During the interview, they looked so formal....take out many toys on the table and see my son could play that...ask my son where was nose, eye....and ask me when to take my son to play during holdiay... I feel the school is very rich and they arrange English /Mandarin play group for candidate and give gift to every candidate...

I quite like this school after the interview. The school is quite spacious and bright, and the teachers are very nice. It's good they arrange some english, PE, mandarin sessions for us to see how the classes run! I think the interview was good, at least they dun force the kids to do anything, but just let them play with different toys! n the questions are considered to be reasonable.

but we waited a long time for the interview, like an hour, not sure if it's their original purpose to let us try the classes, or it's an issue with their arrangment!

I haven't received any offer letter...

By the way, it seems not many parent know this school and his background. Do you know more anything about this kidergarten?

Not much to be honest. this is not those well-known schools so not many parents comment on it.

But based on what i hv read from the magazines and their booklet, i like their curriculum, with both Cantonese and English class teachers, n not sure if u attended the demo playgroup class on the interview day, the english teacher look very good, my girl played happily! And the school is considered to be quite spacious and clean, the toys are quite new, so everything looks quite positive, except that it's on 2/F, not sure how they manage to get the kids up if they come by school bus.....

If i get the offer, I will need to find out more.. too bad I don't know anyone currently studying there...

Just received the offer letter for am class!
Only need to pay $660 registration fee by Dec 6, no other cost, but will try to find out more before registration.

My son also receive AM class offer today. Now, I become painful to decide whether to study in 啟思 or 民生 which are both AM class. Next year, my son will futher attend Victoria, 明我 and North Point 衛理堂....

yeah, see if our kids can become classmates! i got offer from creativity n musang, guess i will pay first, n interviewed Kornhill, awaiting for the news, but i guess chance is slim! will apply for Victoria, which Victoria are u going for? Middle or Lower Kornhill?

i regret i did not apply for more, now both offers dun look very good,i can now just aim for Victoria!

Yes..pay the money first and then re-consider... I am applying lower Hornill as somebody said it is better.. Besides, it is more convenient for me to take BB go and back.

For Man Seng, I actually know nothing but only see there is English and Portungua class in PN. However, I don't know their teaching method or can provide a happy environment for childent to teach them everthing rather than only foreign laguague.... The inside envirnoment is good but outside is bad..... I will see more comment here to make decision..

SmartCandy, right, not much info on Man Sang, it looks good, but really needs to hear more comments before making decisions, but it looks like they are using interactive teaching method.

If either Kornhill/Victoria take my girl, i will definitely take them instead of Man Sang, but let's see how it goes. Good Luck on Victoria, I will apply for Lower Kornhill one as well as it's more convenient for me too, haha, maybe we'll meet up during interview....

I just pay the reserve fee on Friday. I deliberately go to pay the fee on 11:30 a.m. to see the NP student. They looked enjoyable in the school and was doing exercise. There are around 60 students together.. I feel confortable ...

Sorry! There are only around 20 students in the playground area. The reception told me they are doing exercise. Besides, the saw there were 25 studens in the English room and 25 students in the right hand side Room. So think there are around 70 students for PN! I didn't see and count clearly as the receptionist have asked me not to go there while stepping into the pre-nursary area..

They only use Chinese to carry on the interview! However, they are quite formal. Threre were two teachers on the table toward you and your son. They firstly put some toys on the table to see how your son response to the toys (my son can finish that in short time)... After that they asked your son where was the nose, eye, mouth.(my son couldn't point out). In the final, they ask parent who took care of your son during day time and where would I bring my son to play during holdiay..

same for me, the interview was conducted in cantonese and it took less than 10 mins (but we waited for an hour, luckily the school arranged for some english playgroup, mandarin class, and PE class while we were waiting, so my girl had so much fun before the interview, not sure if the school intentionally arranged for this, so we can see the environment and the teachers' standard)

there were also two interviewers, firstly they asked my girl to play some toys, no instruction on how to play, but just let her do it, which is good. Then asked me and my husband some questions, like what we do with the kids, who takes care of the kids, etc... very standard questions, and then asked my girl to point to her nose, hair, hand, etc... and dad.... which my girl was exceptionally cooperative on that day, haha...

the interview atmosphere was very relaxed, plus my girl had fun before the interview, so she did quite well. n we received the offer letter within a week.

not too worry too much, i believe the school does not expect the kids know everything, but will also look at their response. Also when your little one had more interviews, she will get used to it and will be more responsive, that happens to my girl, she does not respond to all the questions in the first interview, and when she went to man sang, she performs better. And Man Sang gives the kids chance to play for a while to warm up first, so i believe your girl will be ok.

oh so your girl will have interview soon? with man sang?

i really trust the school is good, i could see the teachers are quite good via the playgroup demo on the interview date.

just that i dun live nearby, so may need to let my girl take school bus, which worries me a bit......

read lots of good comments from you guys, regret that we haven't gone for the interview in Nov as we have other offers on hand. may try to call Man Sang to rearrange the interview .... but properly the am class is already full.
it needs to walk up stairs to 2nd floor right? seems a bit dangerous for age 2 kids and can't imagine how the teachers can manage the kids to walk downstairs.
it seems not that good to let age 2 kids to ride school bus alone, even accompany by some care taker.

i eventually found out they have lift!! n i took the lift when i went there to pay!

yes, school bus is my concern too..... but it looks this school is better than the other one i have offer, so i m now in a dilemna.... i hope i can get the 3rd offer which is better than these two.

我女女讀緊民生PN AM..我講我自己的acknowledge ...
1. interview 時老師好有耐性的 interview過程基本如下：
Part 1:
1. 外籍老師唱英文兒歌帶動跳
2. 老師拿出一籃樂器，讓小朋友自己去拿，唱完一首兒歌再請小朋友自己放回去籃子裡面。
3. 老師又拿出一籃水果，讓小朋友自己去拿，玩耍完之後再放回籃子裡面
4. 外籍老師講英文故事。

Part 2. 單獨interview (這part老師會先問小朋友最熟悉的語言才開始interview)
1 . 老師會指住玩具問小朋友，ie. 碗是哪個？杯子是哪個？
2. 形狀認識，請小朋友將不同形狀的玩具通過不同形狀的洞放入box.
3. 身體認識，問小朋友眼鼻請小朋友在公仔上指出位置。
4. 認識生果，請小朋友從生果玩具中取出一樣。ie.請小朋友取出蘋果。
5. 認識父母
6. 其他問題：如果平時邊個湊小朋友，平時多數去邊度玩等等。

我個人對民生非常滿意，老師有耐性，有愛心，外籍老師多，我女女英文音正了很多。

我女女都幾enjoy her shcool time, 每次我太太去接女女放學都要勸好耐先肯走。呢間學校我好滿意，一半中一半英，仲有國語課，親子活動都算多。外籍老師都好負責，覺得女女對英文比較遲鈍時會主動同我講，溝通良好。女女好鐘意返學。

講真,呢間是我同事推薦比我，原本我以為一般一般，點知又真的唔錯，有小小意外。

前一排女女有in CWB victoria, 都掂左, 我都仲考慮緊是否要比女女轉....

1. 其他我唔知，小女是PN AM班應該有28人，一個廣東話班主人, 一個西人班主人加一個國語老師。
2. 我覺得小女是最唔乖果個...
3. 唔會，小朋友除非做出超唔正常行為，其他狀況老師通常會自行處理。
4. 會，例如自己洗行，去廁所等等，小女現在超愛洗手。
5. 語言非常大的提升，識左好多英文兒歌，邊唱邊跳舞.
6. 都幾多活動。

Luckily, my baby received offers from both 民生(北角) and 嶺南. Now I am struggling which school we should choose.

I think 民生(北角) is a good school and 'academic' type teaching more languages. They have many NET teachers and their teachers are nice.

嶺南 has good reputation and more famous and it's more 'playgroup' type. More to play and less language learning.

Any comments? How would you choose?

lingnan and 民生都收左我個小朋友，但我諗我會比佢讀民生，聽番d feedback, 話嶺南比較重視普通話教學, 上堂教輕鬆，課程冇咁深。至於民生，我打過電話去問，佢話一班約2x 人, 我仔仔係讀全日班, 老師話 pn 冇普通話班, k1 開始先有，全日班就係半日廣東話，半日英文，每班都會分2個班主任，分別係廣東話老師, 同埋外籍老師...

Yes I personally like 民生's course schedule better. Even their playgroup has 1 Chinese and 1 NET teacher and basically a 100% English class.

What makes me struggling is that Lingnan is much more famous so maybe also good to consider...

Just my personal feeling.... I personally don't like Victoria, very 學店 feel, although it's famous, the kids do not really got accepted by good primary schools.... teachers and schedules are not very good..one of my friend is thinking to move her daughter to another school and another friend has already done so....

btw, does anyone know if Man Sang have good 小一派位?

派位方面，我interview 當日都問過老師，佢同我講話9成既小朋友都係派第一志願既小學，根住就好"行" 咁講左幾間bank 1 既小學比我聽。佢之後仲補多一句 : 派位方面唔洗太擔心。

我之前聽bk d 媽媽講過, 話lingnan 幼稚園出來既學生都好受小學歡迎。我而家都1516....

不過我心諗14區由鯉景灣至炮台山, 有太古城、康怡、北角半山...全部家庭質數應該唔差, 相對小朋友一起學習都好D, 所以如果本身住呢區, 升小即使大抽獎都唔駛擔心

收唔收都應該有信. 我Christmas搬咗屋, 都收唔到信. 1月3日打去民生問, 民生原來寄咗去舊地址 (我其實interview當日已經比咗新地址佢地). 好彩佢地收咗我個女，但佢地話唔會再寄過封信比我，因為交留位費時都要收返封信．佢地10號前要交留位費（即今天），你最好快d打去問下．

I think most of the parents who are itnerested in Man Sang are in general have the below thinkings:

- The school is good. It has many NET teachers. Some kindergardens are very 'playful' type and some are very 'academic' type and they are quite balanced.
- Although the campus does not look very good from outside. It is actually quite clean and big with good environment.
- Kids studying there looks happy. Some of the parents of the kids who are studying there also made positive comments on this kindergarden.
- It seems that most of the parents think that this school is good.

- However, this is not a famous school. The positive comments only come from a small group of people.
- We are worrying that the school may not be good enough to help our kids to enter a traditional 'good' primary school in the future. Not saying that Man Sang is not good, but just that we can't see the reputation from most of the others' eyes.

Having myself as an example, my kid is taking their playgroup and I can see his improvement. He learned new words from the songs he learned from school, he now tidy up his toys after playing, he put his chair back after meal, etc. I participated in his class and impressed by the NET teacher who likes and being liked by the kids.

However, I am still thinking whether I should put him to the tradition 'good' PN schools which is well-known by the others. If the reputation among the schools I applied for my son is indifferent, I would definitely choose Man Sang and no need to struggle like now.

My husband votes for Man Sang as he likes the teacher and campus there and I think we are likely choose Man Sang at the end. But mothers always worry more than the fathers and would not be able to make a decision until last minute, right..?

ffaye, I definitely agreed with your analysis.

In fact, we may apply other school for K1 next year and the most important thing for N1 is to offer our kids a good, happy and balance environment and let them enjoy and get use to their first year of school life.

At the beginning, I had never been to Man Sang campus, had no idea about this school as it's not a famous one, and finally absence on their first interview in Nov.  Afterwards, I read some good comments about Man Sang on their campus and NET teachers, so I called them to re-arrange the interview in Dec.

After the interview , my hub likes Man Sang very much.  He thought Man Sang is the best campus we've ever been so far (compare to Creative, St. Anna, and Ming Wai though we've also paid registration fee for Creative and Ming Wai).  The NET teachers are relatively young as compare to other schools and we can still feel their enthusiam.

Last week my hub went there to pay registration fee during school hours and saw the kids were playing 跳飛機 happily in the open area.  We believe Man Sang is a very good school.
