德望是私校, 註冊不會影響派位. 只有註冊直資的小學才會放棄派位.

Of course St Mary la, its secondary school ranking is no. 9 (top 10) ah. See below link.

I registered with Good Hope this morning. My daughter had a second interview with DGJS this afternoon and two girls in the room (about 10 in total) did not show up. I am thinking maybe they got Good Hope offers and not bother to come. I can't think of any other reasons for missing a DGJS second interview.

Is your girl seeing the Headmistress today? Is there a teacher together in the room?

Hi, 2 out of 10 girls didn't show up. Eight girls did. We are inside a small room checking original documents with the teacher before going up to see the Headmistress. Just the Headmistress only, no other teacher.

Did not interview the parents. We just get to say hello to the famous Mrs Dai at the hallway. Then Mrs Dai will bring the two girls inside. The girls go in pairs. When Mrs Dai is taking to one girl, the other one gets to read a book while waiting.

不過 GH 重有好多人等住想入,唔要學位我就會快啲放手俾機會其他人.幫到人就幫.

How does GD compare with sacred heart private and sacred heart subsidised school, the latte two are just half-day, but both have very good reputations, GH is whole-day school but many say it is rather conservative and , anyone can give some analysis and advice please? will be grateful,

其實GH有否reject letter, 我見BK MaMa收的多數係waiting信(我自己都係), 好似到現在都未聽過人收reject letter

Dear siufay1,

I have two daughters studying respectively in GH and St. Mary.

For academic, GH primary is a lot better than St. Mary primary. For campus, GH primary is a lot better. For Secondary, St. Mary is "One Dragon".

If money is not issue, and only one girl, I will take GH. As GH, she will receive full well foundation for Secondary both English and Chinese.

Heard fr other mums that there are many subjects are taught in Chinese in GH now, is this right??
As for Secondary school, I think their standard will be more or less the same??? since they both are Eng school.

Dear elmolly,

This is quite personal, I found GH offering more steps to steps from basic to hard.  More worksheets helps our daughters for studying but they didn't feel bad.  Free writing both in Chinese and English providing a chance for them creative thinking that St. Mary doesn't have.

Some of the aided school just given the book exercise for them to work at home but without teaching before.  It's make the parents spend more time to teach them at home.

They're both outstanding schools.  It's depend on your daughters' character.

I don't know Holy Angel, so I don't make any comment on this school.

I don't really consider the GH Secondary School now at this moment. If my daughter has the good academic in School, she will have so many choice rather than GH Secondary School. As GH Primary really given my daughter an outstanding foundation.

St. Mary really can provide a safe net for my youngest daughter.

GH teaches both English and Chinese Maths. that what I like.

P.1. is "No" ECA., they use the last lesson for homeworks. So, it's quite easy for P.1 to adopt the school life. Sometimes, they finish the homework before home. They just studying or reading for the rest of the day at home.

thanks for your comments, it helps me a lot to understand these 2 schools.

what kind of girl you think suits better for St. Mary's and GH? actually I'll try for Holy Angels, but I guess it should be pretty similar to St. Mary's. my girl is only in K1 now, so far she likes doing homework and likes reading a lot, but not the outstanding type, you think she can surive for St. Mary's type of school?

just curious, why did you put your girls to 2 different schools as most parents prefer to put siblings to the same school.

Dear Emolly,

Your daughter now is only studying in K1, so it's better let her get into English Phonics, it's help for her English and learning.

My daughters are two different characters; the youngest one, she's not really keen on studying in this moment. It's better to have 12 years protection. Hopefully, she will change later on. My eldest daughter is a black horse, she is so smart for learning. GH is a place showing her ambitious.

It's very hard for parents that two different schools. Maybe, they can share their homeworks and books.
