You are welcome! You will try SHCK for your young daughter? Good luck to you first!

Concerning the interview schedule, basically it is arranged by the order of submitting the applications, meaning early on Friday will have interview in the morning.

However, last year the number of applications increased unexpectedly (that's why I don't post this in 談幼稚園 to avoid attracting too much unnecessary attention

) and the interview time reached the target finish time sooner than planned. As a result, some late submissions received morning interview as they added additional interview rooms to accommodate more applicants.

Let me know if this is not clear.

i plan to submit the form earlier on friday coz i prefer morning interview.

gd luck to your little one! actually i think she must success to get an offer from schk, not only because she is smart and has sister studying in shck, also because she has a caring dad whom is enthusiastic in all issue about shck and child education.

My girls are not particularly smart, especially my young one is quite naughty sometimes! Hope she will behave well during the interview.

I will submit the form on Friday morning too! Will be queuing up together!

Couldn't imagine how long to wait for handing in the application form!

I will be queuing up too on Friday morning, I heard from other parents that last year is already people mountain people sea, can't believe this year I will be part of that!

I won't be a part of the mountain as I will send my husband to submit the form!

He needs to be involved in all these challenging tasks!! (He is excused from all the interviews as my daugther would surely perform with my company.)

Why not? Just from personal experience, some Christian familes wouldn't like to attend Catholic kindergarten as they may feel it is difficult to explain the differences to the children only. I believe this is up to the families to decide. I do know some Christian families here, but certainly not the majority! (It would be quite interesting if they are!)

I am back too, I was early, arrive before 8pm, finish around 9:40am. By the time I get there, already queue almost to the Central escalator.

Yes, cannot see end of queue, I need to walk down to find the end (just for curiousity)

Well, the situation is not exactly the same but certainly competition is higher for entrance to P1.

There will be 240 students for kindergarten this year, but there will be 4 classes (instead of 3 normally) of P1 seats available.

I really don't recommend to even try to change the interview time.

Well, normally how I would suggest parents to handle this during interview season is that you will have to change the nap time at least a few days earlier to adjust to a point where the child will be in best shape after an earlier nap time.

好多謝呀, 不過大囡唔一定著數呀, in 了6間, 已經2間reject, 1間waiting....(我apply的全是有小學, 中學backup 的)interview時好明顯老師問d野深d..also 今年比舊年更多competition...都係cooler than water

I believe you can repeat the questions if the kids really cannot repond. But I dunno if that will affect the chance! However, I assume if you need to repeat the questions then probably the children cannot reply anyway so it may worth taking the risks.

P1 seats for year 2014 in SHCSPS: around 144-160 max; SHCS: around 150 to 165 seats max. But SHCS seats are determine by EDB allocation.

Is that answering in Cantonese a must during the interview in SH? My girl can only understand a little Cantonese and she mostly answered in PTH or ENG in the past 3 interviews. Maybe it will be waste of time for us to go for this interview if she cannot answer in Cantonese. I already tried very hard to teach her in Cantonese but didn't seem any improvement at all.

Another question: Will that be a group interview as I saw lots of applicants allocated to the same time slot when I submitted the application form

I only know in the past, there are children who don't speak much of Cantonese who still can be accepted. However, whether this will lower the chance of being accepted, I am really not sure.

Concerning the interview format, there has been group interview two years ago but seems not the case last year. Not sure about this year too.

No.12 bus is every 20 mins so take long time to wait. But I don't think there are green mini-bus from Central, the one from North Point will pass Admiralty.

I also live in Tsing Yi, so I prefer to go to Central via Tung Chung Line directly rather than Admiralty.

icic, if that's the case then can either use the escalator to go uphill from HK station or no.12 bus. Otherwise, will need to take taxi.

I won't really phased it this way. Some parents actually prefer to apply for SHCS (the gov't aided pm section) or other gov't aided schools thru discretionary or central allocation. So, naturally some students ain't targeting the private am section.

I guess must be very careful while answering this kind of question. Nowadays, this kind of arrangement, the kindergarten and the corresponding private primary school may have different arrangement year from year. As for this year, lucky draw is allowed after being offered.

I guess last year is a very very special year which I witness 20 points getting offered by St. Mary's in the first round, and boy getting into St. Joseph's (net 12) also putting as second choice.

What need to be careful is the trend has to go the other way starting from 2005 born babies, so when we use previous information as reference, this must be take into consideration so can be better planned.

It is correct, this year's case at SHCS is almost a "just make". All the 20 points eventually got offered in the first round (barely). Based on this year's number, I have reasons to believe some 20 points (may be a few only, fortunately) next year may not be as lucky.

SH好像今年也是20分收晒，15分有機。總之要密切留意每年結果。
