Is today the first day for Keenmind K1 interivew? Last year we went to PN interview. Is K1 interview similar to PN interview (group interview)?

Very impressed with Keenmind K1 interview today. We don't need to wait outside the school while it was raining. We stayed in the covered area for 10 mins then got in to the school to hand in the forms. We waited about 10 mins for the group interview. After the group interview, we have to go upstair and wait for another 5 mins in a room then go to another class room for individual interivew. Overall experience is excellent compare to last year.

Group interivew in English (NET): 5 kids got in the room and sat at the table with toys. Teacher will ask each of the kid's parent what language does the kid speak at home. My group = all english. Then teacher asked all the kids and parents sit on the matt and tell a story. Some kids will say star, moon, sun etc. Teacher asked the kid to blow like the wind. After the story, teacher gave the kids shaker and dance. After that teacher asked the kids to go under a bridge.

Individual interview (in chinese):
1) color - a turtle toy with different color and shape. Ask the kid to touch the blue one, yellow one then ask what is this color

2) a wooden puzzle - put in to the right place ex a fish to the fish, star to the star.

3) body part - teacher asked the kid to point out the eyes, mouth and nose on the doll

4) picture - ask the kid what is it
apple, banana, cup

5)magnetic block - ask the kid to stack up like teacher and then clean up

6) ask the kid his name and who come with you today

anyone know how many K1 seats will KM offer to outsider this year cos they have PN classes? Will that be just less than 100 seats ? but with three sessions of interview, i.e. >10 for 1 seat again...chances of getting an offer is really low....

我有做家長義工，但我係o係下面帶領小朋友同家長上一樓，所以未睇到一樓o既情況，而且我只係做上午o個更，所以答唔到你，其實想知道學校有D咩老師，學校上樓梯度有個報告版，已經貼咗相同佢o地教D咩科目。

Last year N1 did not accept my son but I did not receive letter to ask me to in K1. I apply for K1 interview.

昨天我都有返去做義工，確實係比之前運作得暢順好多，去年我k1及n1 interview 也有幫手，昨天下雨都作出心理準備可能會亂，但好ok阿

另..提及學校k1位好少仍要搞interview，其實最後可能都有小朋友另謀高就，如果認為此校是自己杯茶，仍是有機會的，我大兒就是後補入學的。

同意倆位家長義工所講，雖然我o地有份做義工可能會少咗幾個禮拜陪自己o既小朋友，但學校今年真係改善咗，起碼會有一個負責o既老師同我o地講解咗點做先，如果係下午班o既家長義工就會由上午班o既講解之後就會開始幫手。

如果話得好少位，我又覺得唔會，因為我o地上年PN班真係有人無得留底o既，而且亦會有D人去咗自己心儀o既幼稚園，所以位就一定有，但因為KM係小班教學，o甘位多與少就好難釐定。

好累但最後都去o左inKM, 完全唔係我杯茶, 雖然亞仔好叻叻做到七八成要求, 但in我個miss師資太young冇經驗, 這個都未係最致命, 亞仔有部分時間行o左去完全唔show個miss; 但比我睇到佢黑面拎頭, 但一0轉面即變臉嗰o下差嘛, 連interview噤短畤間都唔內煩?! 另外學校賣點蒙特梳里教材, 自己都買到; 最搞笑有個小丑晌裡面扭波... playgp setting rather than a school... 唔知係我未了解定點呢? 但我識兩個人也說這學校好? Can anyone convince me this is a good school?

其實好唔好係好個人的，如果你都已經用到"唔係你杯茶"來形容，那我相信任何人也不能convince你了，面試正好也給你和你的小朋友一個機會去看跟學校有沒有緣，而且要到12月中才會有取錄通知，說不定你小朋友已經有更好的offer了，祝成功。

Int at 1100hrs on 20/11. Heard from a parent that for the last two years (for N1 and K1) interviews, the arrangement was a mess. Seems like KM improved the arrangement...

Thank you for inputing valuable reponse. P1 allocation is really one of the core factors to be considered. But do u know this is due to the principle relations to other schools or the quality of education?

應該是考前列位置的幾位同學才可申請推薦信，所以principle relations 可能並不是最重要因素，當然投考小學也有其他的因素，小孩本身性格/家庭所給予的支援/父母會否有人事關係等等。

我囝囝會係20/11 去interview!
其實, 我到而家都好擔心interview當日既情況, 因為上次in n1既時候已經失敗左. 所以今次我希望自己同阿仔可以做多些準備才去!

因為上次去in n1既時候, 真係太多人又太混亂, 而且group interview完後, 參觀埋校舍就散band. 唯一令我感覺很好而到現在都好希望阿仔入讀呢一間學校既原因, 其實係0係我參觀校舍時, 每一位老師同義工家長比我既感覺! 我覺得間學校每一個人都熱心好有heart, 尤其係大部份外籍老師, 佢地會好主動撩阿仔玩同傾計.
係當日唯一令我覺得唔okay既地方, 就係group interview 那一part 了, 感覺比較求其, 跟住10分鐘唔夠就散band! 等就等左成幾個鐘, in 就只係in左個一陣, 仲要係冇同個別小朋友有乜點交流過

所以, 我真係有d唔多明佢地係用咩準則去收n班學生!

到了今次k1 interview, 當然我好希望阿仔今次可以入到呢一間學校!
但係, 我想請問係度既義工媽媽, 你地有冇一些hint可以話比我地知, km是用什麼準則來收k1學生呢?
整個interview過程入面, interviewer 會重點看小朋友既邊一個部份呢?

我諗今年佢哋真係進步咗好多! 原本面試時間係9:45am, 我早到15分鐘, 諗住俾個囝warm up 吓先, 點知登記完唔使兩分鐘就in first round (group interview)。然後上樓上課室in埋 second round (individual interview), 10:15am就走得啦!!!

有改善係件好事黎既~

早幾年我大小朋友讀這間n1完全唔掂，好多讀了兩三星期就走了，我以為只係我一個係咁，原來都有其他人。原因我想主要係佢地冇咩經驗。

果時個校監真係好似好想攪好間學校，雖然佢係LS前校長，佢太太又係MCS高級英文科老師，但可能現實和理想真係欠一些。我去到IN既時候直情唔洗等，成村人黎服待你，校監仲好好招呼我老爺，同佢傾計。(果時未知佢既來頭，真係冇架子) 但係d老師就攪唔掂d小朋友，個個日日返學係咁咸................... 放學一開門就沖哂出黎要走，果時個個家長見到都好心"up"架。不過呢d野都過左去，如佢地有改進，都係件好事來的。

anyway，想問下，宜家劍鳴仲係咪有D課外活動自費星期6返黎上架，如phonic, 書法..............

school management is not good? if you judge based on the previous interviews, then I have to give it a "yes", however, other than the previous interviews, I think the school management is good, nothing I can complain from the moment I submitted my application till the day we left the school, everything was smooth and clear. if you have dealt with another school known for English in Kowloon Tong, I'm sure you will have a different point of view on "good school management"

說來慚愧，大兒當年考k可算是幾失敗，hit rate 很低的，所以談不上心得，隨緣啦，我小兒今年也有考，當然我都好想佢可以跟哥哥一齊返學，但我都不敢抱太大期望

其實我覺得佢老師好有經驗(通常係班主任，再帶一個比較後生的老師) ，可能現在同以前不同！

係，可以自由選擇返唔唔返，我就有俾個女學普通話。以前N班有學普通話，phonics同合唱團。

Can we request the interview to be conducted in English ? Or will teacher also accept parent translating the questions and kids' answering in English ?

From my memory, at Keenmind's group interview for nursery last year, the teacher asked each parents what language was being used at home. No wonder all parents said they all used Eng at home mainly. I dunno why the teacher raised such questions as the teachers did not speak Eng at all in the nursery interview. I hope they also accept my gal answering in Eng.

現在，我作為一個家長看劍嗚，它真是幾好！我小朋友雖然未曾入讀過其他k1，但我覺得我小朋友現在是非常喜歡返學的，老師有經驗，查詢時可以完全解答所有問題，不過，可能有些家長會覺得課程艱深及學習辛苦 ( 因第一日放學已經有工作紙，每日如是，週末又雙倍)，但我從未知道小朋友做功課都可以如此開心，如此享受！

另外，劍嗚10下旬已經對k1學生作出中期評估，已經需要辨認一些簡單中文字，自從學認字後，我仔仔每每見到中文字就不停問，不停記，英文字也是！現在佢也會主動在家中找一些中文及英文書看，當然，大多數也是圖畫為主！

至於英文聽讀，簡單傾談是沒有問題，但普通話就此較遜色一點！可能是一星期只有兩節普通話課的關系吧！

My son attended interview last Sat. I recalled that the teacher did not ask him to sing a song.
Yes, the interview went smoothly, and finished in around half an hour.

平時上堂都有教o家，英文每日差唔多一個鐘又phonics，普通話一個禮拜2堂每堂25mins，睇你自己認為落，我會再去學囉。
