Begging for "P1 placement offer" - which schools & what do you think?

I saw a lots of news or posts here with the following observations:

1) a lots of principals seem to enjoy parents "beg" them for the P1 placement offers and seems to believe that these parents are "die hard" fans for their school...is this true?

2) indeed, there were "rumours" or "facts" that certain schools give a lots of "begged" placements if parents standing on the door of school almost everyday, longing to meet the principal by chance and to "sell" their kids.....is this true?

3) have you tried that, how's the outcome??

津校同官校, 嚴格黎講無得揀學生, 你求都無用 (not until 6月叩門)
私校直資係可能自己揀學生, 家長為求一個學位, 搏多d機會見校長, 交叩門信, 有咩問題? 我唔敢用"enjoy" lots of "begged" placements"呢類字眼, 事實係, 學校除左想收最叻果批學生, 亦想make sure家長與學校教學理念配合, 發生叩門情況令校長extra留置某d申請人, 一d都唔奇
我敢話, 搭上搭搵校董校監幫手, send portfolio, send叩門信等情況, 根本年頭到年尾日日都發生緊, 得唔得, 好多因素影響既.........(咩學校, 用咩方式叩門, 收生情況)

what are the reasons that some principals do this and some do not? I want to know more...

每個校長都有自己收生準則, 有人覺得我唔賣帳, 叻唔叻仔最緊要, 有校長會睇下有無SIBLING讀緊, 有校長會睇埋家長誠意決定

Ex College principal like people to beg seats?? I heard that I am not sure.. why?? Vanity??

Some people say that " 誠意" is important?? Please help to define what is "誠意"? A full time mom working from 9-5, like a "dog", not able to knock door or to go to the school "every day" to see if the "folder" is being accepted? Does that mean not having 誠意 to the school or to educate the child?

I really don't understand, sorry...

Start begging seats now, out of your loving hearts for your kids and to those loving schools....

Some schools are available and open to "Die Hard Fans Now"...

By the way, if you are dissatified with the whole process of P1 interview, you can reveal your opinions to the school of course and also reveal your voices to the Education Development Office at Sai Kung District.....

Of course you can reveal both strengths and limitaions of this school....

都係果句, 邊間直資/私校都好, 有得揀學生既時候, 個個校長都有一套收生準則, 如果你覺得唔係你杯茶, 咪索性唔好讀LOR, 真係, 揀學校既野, 魚與熊掌, 無DEFINITE ANSWER, 最緊要親自去感受, 揀間自己鐘意, 人地讚到天花龍鳳都係假.........

現實功利D諗: 確保收到好學生,係直資/私校生存既唯一方法, 你估D校長會唔會攞自己份工來較飛?

Not every DSS have this kind of practice, why some principal do this?? why some do not? If these two schools are on the equal footing!!

Some are really "low key", keep their original promises on what they have preached and know what they are doing...

Some are really "high key", like those people just earn a lots of money and cannot wait to let other people know that I am "noble" , yet using very beautiful languages.....such as "happy learning", "loving", "every child has potential"...do they really do that??

From their interview arrangements and the ways they ask kids questions, smart mom and dads, you will know what's happening then...

我自己都試過, 入左表申請一間學校, 去左INTERVIEW, 至覺得唔對路, 咁咪算LOR (慶幸佢唔收慳返D銀兩), 早日睇清楚自己意向都係一件好事

唔去多幾次, 點會睇得清呢

Agree with you, that's one of the ways to know the school.. you have done really good thing for your kid...
