我只係營住, 而家成2千幾人APPLY, SHORTLIST 3XX, 到最後只收1XX, 咁其實佢地最後都會有WAITING LIST. 咁點解仲會有位FOR叩門既?

Let me check with my friend for more details when I met her.

After all, please note that:

1. The competition in previous year is not as strong as this year.
2. There are very smart boys who got offer from YWPS as well as other elite schools who released YWPS at the end.

My son always say forget the questions but he get a chance for 2nd interview.

As long as he did not forget the questions during the interview and could answer the questions well, it doesn't matter whether he remembered them after the interview. :D

Mine is not on the list neither.  It is certainly very difficult for non-related candidates unless you are very VERY smart.

I will say either "smart" or "luck" alone is not enough for this game.   Only the combination of two will get you place from high competition of this level.  Congratulations and continue to "add oil"  !!

I have considre to apply before but finally I haven't apply it. But I have notice their flow from Seminar and application procedure.  I think they do it very well & everything is on schedule.

Congratulations to all the parents to the 2nd Interview.

My son's friend also apply it & I hope he can go to 2nd round & got the seat.

He still waits for SPCCPS & DBSPD 2nd interview announcement.

my boy is a small one, born in dec 2005. he's got a place in the 2nd round. we don't have any kinda relationship with the school.  
although this is just the second round,  i
m so happy and excited as if he's got accepted already.  cos i used to think small boys don't have chance, and of course those with no special relation. but this time it seems that things are always not as bad as we think. way to go!!! small boys' moms, hanging tough and add oil ah!!

According to the practice of the school so far (from admission seminar to 2nd interview notification), they usually give sufficient notice to parents to accommodate their procedures.  As the shortlist says the 2nd interview will be held from late Nov onwards, it will be reasonable to assume that the detailed schedules will be released some time from Mid-Nov onwards.  (Of course, this is just my educated guess.) It may even be earlier but there is no real need to check the web site so early unless you are accustomed to the need to have 1st-hand information.

What I have heard so far about this school is exactly the opposite.  The school does not like bookworms and they emphasise on creativity and group work.  I also hear that in recent years they do put more emphasis on academic subjects in response to requests for grade improvement.

My Ying Wa graduated colleagues told me about all these. Their sons are in Ying Wah as well and thnking of changing to other schools. They are in the alumni.

What I can gather so far is that the principal will ask the child questions related to the previous interview (so what appeared in the last interview needs to be remembered). She will ask the parents about the child's personality and strengths/weaknesses as well as expectations we have about the child's development - this part is quite common for the last interview of each school.

I hope the above helps.  Maybe other parents can share what they know too.

I have the same comments from my friends about YW. YW faced the pressure to improve their academic grades as DBS.

Thank you for sharing such information.  I will definitely consider it when I have a chance to make a decision on whether I will let my son study in Ying Wa.

Will you consider not going to the 2nd interview as you don't like the school and the comments are so negative?  It will give more chances to parents who like the school.

I suggest you give up your 2nd in place immediately.  The school love book worm?  On the contrary I am afraid they got too aggressive on the sports and music etc!

Most of the parent will be able to replace your son in the 2nd in so you dont get disappointed.

I respect your decision, though if you can be kind enough to consider the above it will certainly be beneficial to many others, just because of an alternative decision.

Actually the ideal solution is probably (1) he attends the interview with his son; (2) he tells Principal Lam about these comments and that he will definitely decline any offer so that Principal Lam needs not reserve a place for his son.  Win-win for every party.

I don't mean to educate anyone, but if my effort has an effect, it will probably benefit someone and I don't mind trying, even though it might end up fruitless at the end.

I'm sorry, you are right.  It should be from early Nov.

In that case, we will have to check the web site at least once a day from now on.  I was told (without 100% certainty) that the sequence will be the same as the date of app form submission, so early 1st interviewees may be interviewed earlier.

To make it short, please don't take a stranger's comment too seriously especially in the cyber world as we have not authenticated each other's identity and are not sure the ultimate purpose of a certain comment.

Everyone is a stranger here as far as authentication of identity is concerned.   Even if a stranger may be playing games here, I still think it is worthwhile responding even if there is only a slim chance of doing some good.  This is my philosophy of life.  It might sound silly, but spending a few minutes of my spare time to type something to someone is ok.  There is not much I can help anyway - my knowledge is quite limited. :)

Out of curiosity I have matched the numbers of the 2nd in list to the numbers on the 1st in (with Principal one), there are some numbers on the 1st in one which supposingly (only my guess) are the related applicants (those specifically have a Saturday 11/9 interview date with the Principal) not having a 2nd interview.

Does that means that not all the related one got a chance of 2nd in?

If any user uses other log-in names, all we can do is to ignore him/her.  Besides, it's not always easy to tell whether an ID is the same person as another.  We can only use common sense.

I don't want to spend my time identifying these people or speculating.  I just do what my conscience tells me.
