如果小朋友的英文程度可以輕鬆考到, 報考也不是問題. 如果要辛苦吹谷, 小朋友的心情有影響小學面試. 其實, 小女k2時考了cambridge starters 有 full mark, 考小一時也只有兩個offers(感覺上唔關張cert事, 係果兩次in得較順利), 其他學校都係waiting or 無2nd. 我覺得張cert唔太重要, or其他人可能有movers full mark 仲勁. 有cert好過無cert, 但唔洗迫. 迫完都未必有人睇到張cert.

最重要interview回答老師有文有路, 成熟更好. <-- 又係無得迫.

I heard that you need to make a profile for the primary school. Therefore you need to put different kind of cert. to prove the ability.

正如我講, 沒有特別上course, 只係報名考試, 書局買exercise試做. 沒有course可介紹. 而且年齡太少, 沒有center收.

系呀,所以要參加d train去考試d英文班,唔系立刻操past paper.如果英文程度好,可以直接用past paper train

While the choice is yours, I would recommend spending time to immerse the kid in an English environment for solid improvement in language proficiency instead of exam. oriented programme.

I trust solid language proficiency is more impressive to and can easily be observed by the school principal or teachers during interview.

I think Trinity spoken English grade 2 with distinction result is better for P1 application

Trinity mainly focus in daily spoken English with correct grammar (good for interview & for school consideration--> parents'/ home English environment)
vs. Cambridge is mainly for Primary pupils (school may consider there is military training for kids)
Grade 2 is difficult for most kid < 6 esp. with distinction score. Some kids even sit for Grade 2 (directly without Grade 1), if they speak like a native speaker.

My daughter also took GESE oral exam. But, the exam center didn't check the id with photo before enter into the exam room. And, the exam requires to attend course in authorised center.

I like the Birtish Council history. The cambridge exam cert has recognition.

If your kid is very smart, the school will not bother to see your certs. It is only when your kid falls in borderline case. Then your profolio is important.

No, it is not a must to join any course before taking the Trinity exam. You can enrol for the exam directly via the Trinity HK office.
