20 marks, almost sure win for St. Francis or St. Paul's Catholic.
But for Marymount, very slim chance, you've got to prepare for 2nd round lucky draw.

If you target for a safe bat, both schools should give you fairly the same chance in round 1, as most applications go to Marymount, leaving more chances in round 1 for 15 marks in both schools.
The key determining factor would be your preference of school. So you may need to do some research first. Usually, when you consider a primary school for your girl, you will consider as well its secondary school. St. francis has a far better campus which is just newly built. Both schools are Cantonese teaching schools. In terms of academic, some says St. Paul's Secondary which is St. Paul's Catholic's direct secondary section , is slightly better. Another consideration would be the average % admission, in the last few years, of its primary students promote to its affiliated / direct secondary schools, i.e. the safety net.

Moreover, it's yr preference with full time vs. half day school. For me, I prefer half day school. My girl is ok with waking up. I wake her up and she ll get up within 1 min with no complains, so it's ok for her to have pm section on wkdays and am section for alternative Saturdays. I arrange Eng and Chinese lesson for her during the wkdays am before school. This can avoid the busy sections. E.g. her Eng lesson supposed to be one to six kids but now only one on one or one to two kids in the am but for the same price! And since my girl sleeps at 11pm and wakes up at 9am for the extra activities, she still has 10hrs sleep everyday. She arrived home at 630pm and finished school work within 30 to 45mins before dinner, she still can have 1.5 hrs of piano practise after dinner before sleep. My friend's daughter usually can practise piano for more than 2 hrs each day when she was still in kindergarten. But now after she attended the full day classes at school, she was just too tired to have piano practise for more than one hr after she finished her homework. So I think half day school is more suitable for my daughter. But it's different for own's preference

Nice to hear from you here. I also see the advantage of a half day school. There're far less students in extra curricular lessons. My girl could always make use of the morning time to do reading, practise piano, and I use this morning session to have some private time with her at home ,and teach her piano while my younger one is in the kinder.

Hi Hi! Daisy, did u go to today's p.1 parent meeting? They said that it would change to a full day school in the future (someday!). I hope it won't change before my girl graduate there, haha!

Yes I was there this morning. Echo your wish! The Principal told us that it is a praise if the teacher doesn't say a word with eye contact to our girl!

I told her that the headmistress saw some girls didn't go it and she wasn't happy about it..... haha...... btw, I think the headmistress is someone who has expectation on moral behaviourial development of the girls....原帖由 daisy17772 於 10-10-2 17:47 發表

Definitely yes, and I did tell my girl that the headmistress likes to see girls lining up nicely and expect them behave politely.
