先看看時間表, 8:15am 上堂, 8am 前就要到赤柱, 而且, 萬一小朋友在學校出了事, 例如生病, 家長或工人入去接小朋友放學都很花時間

各方面條件的不錯, 最大缺點是直屬中學太差, 可能連band 1尾都無, 應該只有band 2頭水平, 近年剛轉直資, 有機會以後成績會改善.

I attended both St.Paul Co-Ed and St Steven P1 seminar last week. Personally, I like St Steven even more than St Paul Co-Ed. The principal of St Steven is more presentable and the mission of the school is matching our own expectation. St Paul Co-Ed is a very traditional school which is no my cup of tea. St Steven seems to be more free but at the same time also emphasis on academic achievement. Especially like the idea of P6 Boarding Programme. The principal explained it is a very good chance to let the children to be independent and build up the network (that help a lot when they grown up and start to work) as most of the children did not have / or only few sibilings.

If you look at the academic results especially the HKCEE, St. Stephen is not at the same class as St. Paul Co-ed, though parents may not care about academics, but happy learning.

同意。有一位我的家長朋友去完簡介會話，呢間學校好似係收中上階級o既"港孩"，因為怕學生自理能力不足(校長的確o係簡介會上提過呢點)，要佢地p6寄宿黎訓練佢地獨立。

I also have some doubt to the accuracy of the statistics. Anyway, the secondary school has changed to 直資 recently ? Even if the secondary school is not good enough, I will still consider it becasue if the primary school is good, may be the children can still have good chance to change to other secondary schools. It does not mean that the children must study the same secondary shcool after 6 years, right?

Did not consider 聖士提反書院附屬小學:
1) location is too far
2) school fee is too expensive
Besides, at our time, only children that neither parent wants to take care will put into this schoo. because it's boarding school.

就算係Band2頭也唔使用"太差"去形容o既，大把所謂傳統名校都係咁上下啦。
我都好喜歡這間小學，可惜唔收阿仔.....

Just called to SSCPS, 2nd interview shortlist result will inform by letter (no phone call). Letter will send out around mid-Nov to Dec. (But no fix date yet). Final result will be annouce on/before Jan. 29, 2011.

It is obviously that St Stephen is a Band 2
secondary school. I heard that the learning
atmosphere in the school is only fair. One of my
friend's daughter was studying in this primary
school. She told that most of the students had
to study aboard later, not because their parents want to let them study abroad but because their academic performance cannot compete with
others students in the traditional school in Hong Kong.
Therefore, it is really a choice of happy learning
or traditional school. Most of traditional
school can get a good academic result than the
happy learning school.

Agreed. I am also arranged at the last time slot
(around 5pm)on the second interview day. No
st stephen students are arranged to bring us to
visit the campus at that time. And the teach is
rush to conduct the interview. Thus, I think that my chance is low.
My classmates who are arranged to interview in
the morning is treated well, with students to
bring them to visit and the teachers are serious
in conducting interview. Don't know whether
they have more chance.
Anyway, I don't think this school has good
academic performance and just learnt that it's
secondary school is Band 2. Thus, it is not my
choice now.

I am of the view that this school should try to transition to international school curriculum, and phase out the local curriculum. Given its strong focus on "happy learning", yet not being able to yield a positive academic result, why not just become an international school, and not participate in local public exams anymore?

我會咁睇, 以佢o既天賦優勢(校園硬件、辦學團體, 聲譽(未查過三世書o既, 係人都會想當然咁話佢係名校)), 轉左直資之後完全有條件更上層樓. 對於資源不成問題, 自視不低, 不甘於蟄伏環頭環尾的學校, 但又不喜歡過於攀附, 傾向於"寧為雞口, 不為牛後"比較哲學的家長, 會很對他們的胃口.

I believe even Raimondi also received over 1000 applications. And I bet almost all parents applied for more than 5 schools, some even 10 schools.

1st of all, I did not open a new account in order to repond to you.
2nd, as you mentioned how high the school fee it is charging, I just don't understand the basis for this level of fee. It is not running IB. And its class size is not small (which I assume refers to less than 25). Maybe you could give us some insight as to why such a high school fee is required (I assume it is not a profit-making organization).
