Our son has also got the offer. Needs to think it over b'cos if we take the offer at the admission briefing on Sep 11 pm, we have to give up the chance of P1 allocation.

The placement offer would not affect the 1st phase POA if you don't REGISTER with GT.

The notice from GT mentioned that if we register with GT, the kid's name will be sent to Education Bureau and we will not be allowed to participate in 統一派位 only. I'm not sure if I could still participate in 第一phase -- 自行收生 if we register. I will check with the Bureau later this week or the next.

I just called EB, once we register with GT, the right to Placement Offer will be denied.

Once registered with GT, your kid will NOT be eligible to take part in the 1st phase of Primary One Admission system (i.e. Discretionary Places 第一階段自行分配).

Btw, I think waiting list is also a gd result if this school is not yr ultimate choice. Cos' I got a waiting list letter last yr, then I have the opportunity to enrol for the central allocation and luckily I got a gd offer. My other two friends also got waiting list letter from GT, one got the offer from Good Hope and the other one also has allocated to his 1st choice during central allocation. Then GT called all of us in June, we all refused it.

And moreover, I forgot to mention that my fourth friend first got the offer from GT, so she registered with it and didn't have an opportunity to enrol for the central allocation. Then she got an offer from CKY, she held the two offers till the HKCEE results of GT has been released. Now she would give up GT and go to CKY. So if you really like this school and got a waiting list letter, don't give up so soon, u still have a great chance to get into this school in June. Good Luck!
