Not much.

For K2 (my son's current level), the homework can be finished in 15 minutes (if he's focused).

For K1, it's even less.

My son is attending Cantonese/English stream.
No idea about K3 but believe it's not overwhelming.

My answer is yes to both your questions. Note that many parents like full day class and there usually is a queue for it.

我想知道番學之園K2要識得寫同埋認D乜野中文同英文字, 數學教到D乜, 希望呢個暑假同佢操一操, 等佢可以順利過渡
請問你可唔可以借D工作紙或者每週學習進度表俾我影印, 或者幫我影印一份, 我俾番錢你

Hi Alan,

As mentioned earlier, there is not much homework. Actually, LHK is not the type of traditional boosting style school.

You may want to check with the school directly about their curriculum for a better understanding.

I know that the school is currently teaching Phonics. Does she just teach the letter sound from A to Z? Is there any blending being taught at the moment?
Are the pupils required to dictate the letter sound of simple words like c-a-t for cat?

concerning the chinese word, how many and what words are being taught this week?
any 配詞 like ( )車, ( )池?

Hi Alan,

Not sure if they have any dictation in school. At least, there is no instruction for parents to conduct dictation at home. Currently, I know my child can spell simple words with 3 or 4 letters. For longer words such as kangaroo, he may still miss one letter or so. I think this is pretty normal for K2 kids and am not seeing it a problem.

Regarding Chinese, they are learning to write their Chinese name this week. 配詞 like ( )車, ( )池? No.

Regarding phonics, they have learned the basics in PN and K1. Just checked the summary of 'what I learned this week' and saw phoics: /v-k-u-e-z-j-g/; zig, zag, wet, jet.

After all, I do not worry about the transition to P1. At the moment, my concern is whether I can find a P1 suitable for my son's personality and stage of development.

My son's class has a new girl joining. From her surname, I guess she is your daughter.

I have told my son to welcome and help her whenever needed. Hope she likes the new environment in LHK.

I think the phonics really help. The teacher said the K2 students would learn how to write their names in the 2nd school term.

因為好多時小朋友都可以自己攪掂
(冇乜好或唔好)

相比同年小朋友
我的囡兒認字真係麻麻
只是那英文口音超正
直資學校的學習環境會比較合適 ...

平日要在家中用学校的認字咭温習。小兒的中文比英語進歩多。

但要看書時....就想人幫佢讀

都係那一句
每人有唔同要求
所以其實冇話好定唔好
我比較著重犬女英普的口音
因為小孩大了口音就難改
所以認字麻麻.... ...
