For younger kids learning English writing, there are a few stages. First, give them a task and let them write and express their ideas. At this stage, there are many mistakes in the writing, including spelling and grammer, don't correct them immediately. The basic idea is to let them enjoying the writing exercise. When they are willing to write, you should then teach them some grammer and correct their sentence.

It doesn't matter if they make mistake. In fact, many kids do not like writing for fear of making mistake.
