My 7 years old daughter will attend the Grade 2 piano exam next Saturday, anything we have to pay attention to? This is her first time and we didn't request a translator.

ask your piano teacher, she/he should give you advice wow.

我個仔都係7歲，亦係4月考2級，你個女學咗幾耐琴呀？我個仔只係學咗年半琴，我覺得老師要佢而家考2級，可能急進了些，如果10月考應該冇咁大壓力，最近琴老師就谷aural和scale多一點，我地都冇要translator。

My daughter learnt piano for almost 2 years. We went to the exam site and practise it for half an hour this afternoon. I am just worried that she will be nervous next sat. She also has school tests and we have to do revision on that as well. Actually I didn't expect her to take the exam in April. I don't think she is ready for that.

me too! 我都覺得我仔仔未ready呢，第一次考琴試nervous係好正常，做到平時8成已經很好，我們自己唔好緊張，個小朋友就自然會放鬆一點。

唔使客氣，以我所知，4/5 月是冇得揀時間的，但8/9/10/11 是可以填你prefer那一個time slot的，不過你最好問問琴老師，佢地應該最清楚。

hi, 小小分享:
1. 三角琴個譜架較高, 7歲小朋友會唔慣(尢其平時彈慣直身琴), 我(比賽時)見有學生驚到成隻歌彈低左8度! 最好一早book同一部琴run一次
2. 要踩pedal嗎? 如果要就要記得帶個腳踏
3. 一係背譜, 一係帶清潔原裝譜, 唔好用老番
4. 雖然老師會先溫熟d terms, 但都要多同小朋友練習oral (對! 係英文對話), 我女琴老師有學生, 考官問一題, 小朋友答yes, 考官再重覆, 小朋友答no, 考官無再問, 好明確問題答案唔係yes or no, 咁小朋友就嚇驚左 (譬如: 問題係is this piano? 同is this piano or forte已經有唔同答法啦係咪?)

一定要識架wor! 因為考試會問, 佢彈一段然後簡單問一句係連音 legato 定跳音 staccato (or係唔係staccato), 漸強 crescendo 定漸弱diminuendo, 細聲 piano 定大聲 forte等
又會彈2段問有咩唔同, 係拍子唔同定個音唔同, 留心d好易聽到的
同埋會陣音叫學生唱
講真我都係search至識串d字, 不過最基本幾個要識讀同識解lor (一定問架, 要請琴老師講解)

我唔係琴老師, 講得唔夠詳細, 有無專業人士幫幫手呀唔該......

for grade 2, you might answer smooth or detached instead of legato or staccato.

Remember to reach on time, be polite, have confidence, know which pieces you are going to play, choose scale/ pieces first...

Many thanks！其實想問琴老師好耐，但每次見她，她都很忙，學生排得密麻麻，再加埋校際，我想加堂上aural佢都冇時間俾我，我仔仔只是上過兩堂aural，我覺得唔夠，但老師話ok，請問normally，小朋友會上多小堂aural before exam 呢？

考官問題裡面唔係會有果d terms嗎? 我女老師係咁講的, 萬一佢問is this legato and staccato, 學生都要識解掛?

Agree. I stayed at home and watched how the piano teacher asked my daughter yesterday. My daughter sometimes forgot how to pronouce those long words, then the piano teacher told her to use other words which have same meaning such as "getting faster, slower, louder, etc..."

I just received the exam result this afternoon and my daughter got Merit in the exam. I feel so happy because I only expected she got a pass.

My daughter had exam on Apr23, I think that she will get the result this week.
