Dear all RC parents,

My girl got an appointment for 2nd round interview next week. As I really like the school and want her to get pass the assessement. Please tell me what will they ask or expect the child to do during the assessment?

I suggest not pressurizing your daughter for the interview performance.
Instead, encourage her answering teachers' questions.
Questions are simple.
I guess the purpose is not for correctness of answers but assessing her readiness to learn in English.
Just like joining a party and enjoy herself.

thank you for your advise, it is hard not to worry, as we like RCHK very much. Is there any dress code for interview day?

Is your child studying in RCHK?

Yes. Mine is Year 1 now.
While my daughter was attending the interview, she simply wore her kindergarten uniform, as she needed to rush back to school after interview. Some were in school uniform, too, some were in causal wear and someone did wear a little bit formal.
I think nobody in RC cares how do or your daughter dress for the interview. U have been thinking too much.
There is nothing more you can do at the moment. Relax. Your daughter may get nervous when u are nervous.
If your daughter likes the school, she will perform well.
(Why not promise something your daughter loves if she is doing well? Materialism is sometimes effective at the critical moment, if not yet abused.)

Thanks again.  Dont know why I could not log in this page for last couple days.

Sure, the interview is the top of my list now. Can you remmeber what they asked your daughter during her interview?  Most importantly how do they decide which one is suitable for their school.

We like RCHK so much because of they emphasis on mandarin teaching as well as english.  This seems to be the trend now.

What do you think?

If you had attended the seminar held by Mr. Muller for RCHK P1 applicants, as what he said, you got nothing special to prepare. Just let your daughter be happy and queue up following the teacher heading to the interview room with other kids. The only requirement is the ability of the use of English for normal conversation (I guess). My daughter passed the 1st interview in Jan 2010. I don't what they did or arranged to my daughter. We just dressed her up with kindergarten's uniform. I don't think RCHK cares what the kids dress up for uniform. I think the only important thing is not to make your daughter nervous, and don't blame her for anything starting from the morning on the interview date.
