Hi,因我對B係細B,所以很遲才有得interview,老師直接話上午班己冇位,下午才有.各位收了的媽媽,你們會讀嗎?
聽說課程太淺,但口碑好,你們什樣部署佢們的學習時間?
我打算早上同佢哋上Playgroup,下午才上學,不知會否好幸苦.
现在重等Viatoria 5月 interview,不知如收了讀那一間好!

我囡囡係0809, 好多學校都唔收,所以收了下午班,第一時間交留位費.

家姐都係下午班,無辦法,唔習慣都要習慣.k1可以試吓其他學校,得可以換第二間,唔得嶺南都係一間好學校.

gyyeung77, 你報咗那些學校啊?有面試機會嗎?雖然我對孖女有幾間都收了(明慧,北角合一堂,灣仔堂,小童群益會,右思维,太古城聖安娜),但冇一間係好想讀. 想讀的連見的機会也沒有. 嶺南收佢地己經好開心,即交留位费,可能佢地有機會成同學仔喎!

但都有人話維記唔好,老師無咁關心小朋友,
係呢方面,嶺南可能做得更好,
但我自己又鐘意維記的三文兩語教育方式,
所以都心大心細...

我其實spn都交左表, 睇吓有無機會
要揾一間合適的nursery, 真係好難

我對孖女係08年10月頭,spn最遲的出生日是2008年9月30日,真唔好彩冇得見. 而victoria也要5月才可見,今個saturday會去明我interview. 其實佢哋好早產,27week出世,話就快1.5歲,但實在只有14個月,行都未行得到,所以我己經覺得佢地好乖好叻了,都寄望太大名校了.

mirage2007 ,我都唔係好鍾意Linglam的只focus母語教學,我相信早接觸多語對佢地幫助大,所以有点和自己的concept有背道而馳,如果victoria收,我都好烦.重有我担心太淺也影響她們,我大女對文字/認知很好,現也可說和認出很多動物和物件的英文. 西班牙語的body parts也有部份識,但我只一星期一堂.

其實嶺南是間happy school,
我都好喜歡,
我今天打了去問那裡的職員,
為何有啲細b已收了,
但我的還未有面試?
那些職員說現在只見到10月b,
我是12月b還未見

Hi Mirage2007, seems like we are all in the same boat. My twins got accepted into Lingnan PM class. Was really hoping they can go to AM class instead. school is quite caring but I'm a bit concern about 1 language only as my girls only speak English at the moment. On the other hand, heard some students get accepted into St Paul Co ed. They are going to Victoria playgroup now so will apply for PN also. Interview this Sat like everyone. Also apply for SPN.....let's see if they will even grant us an interview.

just received offer from Wisely am class, dont know how to choose, Lingnam pm or Wisely am class? any advice?

Going to attend Victoria's interview in May, but since the competition is so high, I dont think my b will get an offer

macdullbaby - same as you, my boy also got PN AM offer from Wisely and PM offer from Lingnan. Interestingly, I found from Wisely's website that its 校監 is 陸趙鈞鴻博士, same as Lingnan. I believe these 2 kindergartens have similar philosophy in teaching methods.

For me, Wisely is closer to our apartment.

of course must try other kintergarten, K1 have more selection than PN,no harm to try.

Seems both kindergartens' kids go to good primary schools.

In any event, I will apply other kindergartens (e.g., SKH) for K1.

Today we went to 明我 interview,so many people and there are small and crowdy. Compare with Lingnan, Lingnan is much better, teachers are very nice and polite, but my friend who baby studying in 明我 said that is very good school to study and 80% can go 基灣. How about other parents? Any progress?

Hi Mommies, my girls got accepted into Lingnan PM and Victoria AM class. Both schools are good. I'm a little concern about the 1 vs 2 languages. But I prefer AM class. Which would you pick? Pls advise.

my little cloud got the offer from 嶺南pm and Wisely am class too.
both of them are christian school, good in caring kids and teaching kids in behaviour, but speaking in cantonese only
as most of the parents' concern, Victoria provide a bililingual or trilingual enviornment to kids.. so, i tend to choose Victoria and give up the other 2!!

we're living in pokfulam, so, victoria in South horizon or wisely in Caine rd are more convenience for us!

still thinking... what should we do??

Wow, your little cloud is a smart cookie.
We really like Lingnan's way to teach kids to be proper and good ("Duk Yoke").  We feel Victoria spends less time on that.  We do want our kids to be bilingual (their Cantonese is quite bad at the moment but fluent in English) so a little worried Lingnan will be disadvantaged.  Also, the offer was for PM class which I don't really like.
On the other hand, Victoria has a nice campus and more language offerings.  Both have kids to go to famous Primary schools......
Headache! But good problem to have....  :)

Hi Wootaitai, thank you for your insight. You're definitely right about the discipline vs language. I guess what's holding me back from choosing Lingnan are the following:
- language
- campus is quite old and hard to get to
- curriculum too easy
- PM class for my girls.

Perhaps these are minor points?

Dear all mummies, may i seek your advice as i am really struggling whether to let me son to Lingnan PM class.

Our concern:-
1) His time clock is energetic in the morning and used to have a nap from 1230 to 3pm. So we prefer am class.

2) We live in Kennedy Town and is pretty far away from Lingnan.....a bit worried for him to take school bus by himself.

Besides Lingnan, we didn't have any other options (previously either he is on waiting list or we dun pay the deposit in other school).

Wat i am thinking now:-
1) unless Lingnan can offer am class before Aug, we will arrange my son to go to Letterland (CWB) . Currently he goes to playgroup at Baby Buddies at Sheung Wan which is pretty good.

2) then we applied pre-nursery/K1 this year for those school in Central and Western District.

Any comments??

I just called to Lin Lam,they said they will send out the form for applying the uniform and other payments... e.g. books. Will you pay for that ? or you have other better selection?

Hi meimei223, I already got their letters to pay for tuition, books, etc. I'm still not decided where my babies will go. They got accepted by Victoria Am already so I think this is better for their schedule. They also learn English/ Mandarin in their current school so I think transition would be better as Lingnan is all Cantonese. Looking at their fees, everything is so much cheaper than Victoria which is also another considerations. Will you put your kid in Lingnan?

That's terrible to hear. May I ask which campus the playgroup is at? When I attend the kids' playgroup, we were so busy. Running from 1 activity to the next. There were free time for sure (in the beginning and in the indoor playgroup) but only the latter was a bit longer. Must have been worse..... We'll stop the PG in June as we'll be on holiday then they'll start PN there in August. Hopefully it won't be so so bad as you described.

I got the forms from Lingnan and I feel sad to give up the school as I know it's a good one. However, I'm worried about the language and the curriculum.

my son is 0808 baby n he was offered PM class at Lingnan but we decided will not go for it mainly because the school bus does not cover our area. We live in Kennedy Town and it's very inconvenient for me to bring him to school everyday and i dun want to let the maid to do it. We may try to find if there is any other nursery class near our district or go to playgroups for 1 yr more before going to K1.

It's a painful decision but we dun want my son to travel long long way to Lingnan.

Hi,Twinsbaby,we attended the (upper Victoria TKS),the beginning teacher is Ms.Lau and Ms. Annate (English teacher),after one class,only Ms.Lau because the Ms.Annate got thoat problem and unable to speak. The 3rd class,temporary find one english teacher who doesn't know how to teach and scare to sing. Finally, new Chi. teacher and another new teacher,but the eng. one still bad.... I already not giving the May tuition fee....the PG was the one that the worst so far.

我都係住小西灣(富景), 其實迦南(AM) 、蘇浙(PM) 、嶺南(AM)三間(Nursery)都收咗我個仔(08大仔)。我已經放棄咗”迦南”,
好大機會都會放棄”蘇浙”(5月13-15日註冊), 90%會讀”嶺南”(5月8日註冊)。

我問過嶺南校車要8.00am上車, 9.00am到學校(實際的上車時間當然要視乎有幾多少朋友住係港島東啦)。係就係遠d, 但又想亞仔讀得開開心心, 希望仔仔可以係幼兒園/幼稚園階段能建立信心及學習的興趣。所以似乎”嶺南”係首選。諗住試下先(嶺南8月中開學), 唔鍾意再係開學後轉校, 最壞打算唔讀Nursery囉 !

其實今年9/10月肯定會報其他幼稚園(K1), e.g 聖瑪加利大, 靈糧堂, 呂郭碧鳳, 聖公會等。

Well …. I do have the same concern before.
KCS is a bit closer and have Mandarin/Eng.
However, KCS need to sit-in for K1 interview, not guarantee for K1 promotion.
Moreover, I found that the teachers in KCS is a bit old and heard that they are using their old theory for teaching, some of the teachers are not caring.
Of course, all the school have good & bad teachers.

Though I will apply other kinders for son in coming Sep/Oct, however, for sure the competition is extremely keen due to high birth rate of 2007/2008.
Hence, it seems more safe to pick Lingnan just in case I can’t get in to those dream kinders.
So far Lingnan’s comments is a super happy school for kids & mommy.
I really want my son to enjoy his nursery/kinder life without any pressure.
Study life is so long for them …...

mexx2026 ,how old is your baby? My babies rejected by Victoria,since they peroform very bad after came back from hospital. It is very hard dicision, but if i were you, i will select Victoria.

We are late comers. The application was sent very very recently.

Just got an acceptance letter, and will do the registration this Sat.

Did some moms mentioned we can choose to commence school in Aug or Sept 10 ?

Yes, interview was made last Sat. We saw about 40-50 families.
