I was paying attention to schoolbag selection for my daughter, who will be G1 in coming Sep.

Just want to know eg SPI - small size school bag, is it ok for G1?

The small size of SPI will not be enough , since the school will provide some floders for different subjects. Your Children will bring them to school each day.
