SKH vs Victoria

skh has a nice environment, and famous for its primary school allocation, but need to take school bus for 30-45min; victoria has good language training and very happy studying atmosphere, but students are very free and its syllabus is comparatively easy.... how to choose?

I was exactly like you b4. My daughter got into Eng/Putonghua at CWB Victoria and SKH, and I finally chose SKH. There were more than 5 parents happened to pick SKH, too. Ask yourself a question, will u consider int'l school or local primary for your kid? Do you wanna pay $950 per month but worth more than $5000? or pay $4600 that worth $5000? This is my PERSONAL opinion and no offence to other school. If you still are unsure, can tell u more about SKH.

我問過兩個老師, 她們都說2010年9月學校未搬, 大約到k2時才搬, 唔知情況有無更改呢, 不過登記日學校好似會講呀!

其實我對skh都認識不多, 只知以往考取到spcc的機會率較高…, 我都有d擔心會影響將來考小學的成續, 又擔心讀一年又要搬會對小朋友有影響…

hello marinachira, it's good to know your daughter is studying happily in SKH. but i'm still unsure cos there's many unknowns for me about SKH.

my son got accepted in mt bulter campus. it got a very nice outdoor environment with a little farm, but ppl said it's going to be relocated later? even if not, cos i live in quarry bay, i do concern about the travel time needed. i've asked some taxi drivers, and they said the traffic is usually heavy and jammed during time to and off school. i wondered the time needed to travel on a school bus.

About the syllabus, is SKH very traditional? with lots of writing? K1 may be too early to tell, but do u know if the syllabus is more difficult compare to victoria?
i asked the staff in SKH and they said there will be half an hour of english teaching each day only? is it true? cos i like victoria with an english class teacher all the way with the students.
Also, do u know whether there will be putonghua teaching in SKH?

School fee is definitely a plus for SKH, especially i got a 2nd child to consider later.....

我家姐個女是在Victoria(cwb)畢業, 英文好好, 中文just ok. 要補習作文, 另一個家姐個仔在Victoria(寶翠園)讀pn, k1轉咗去SKH, 宜家讀小一, 英文唔係太好. 根據我家姐的意見, Victoria英文一定比SKH好, Victoria以客為先, 所以老師十分nice, 交足貨, 但係就好貴. SKH好嚴, 著重小朋友的德行及紀律, 有時老師都幾惡, 派位好, 想考直資或私校最好讀lee間. 最大問題係佢會搬校, 如果好似德瑞咁搬咗入薄扶林就大濟la.

我都好想我個仔讀SKH, 可惜佢只係waiting. 唯有安份守己讀spc la.

我比較喜歡SKH, 因為SPC有電腦房, 我不贊成幼稚園小孩用電腦.

skh都收咗綽庭pm呀！我而家都煩緊，因為我只係表面睇資料就知skh考小學都考得幾好，但係真係好想知d課程既野，最煩我唔識人有小朋友讀過問唔到，你又知唔知呀？如果skh收Aidan，你會唔會比Aidan讀呀？

hi everyone,

I have a similar situation here. My daughter is now doing PN AM class in CWB Victoria and she just got accepted by SKH K1 Am class. I really dont know what to do with the school selection. All I want is just that she enjoys studying because studying and seeking for knowledge is a lifelong process and I want her to enjoy the process.

I am also afraid that SKH will not give as much exposure to english as Victoria does right now.

its a hard decision...no one ever studied in SKH before among my group of friends..please advise.

Not just this year. SKH likes to accept kids from Victoria. They accept 1x kids from Victoria every year.

I know 4 kids studying in Victoria PN last year, 3 got offer from SKH. I think most children studying in Victoria have some good background, I think SKH also prefers children with good backgroud, not because SKH prefers Victoria.
