In terms of reputation, of course, Good Hope is better. I will have my comparison as follows:-

Good Hope Primary
- Private (School fee @ HK$3,700)
- Chinese stream
- Better academic results
- Bigger class of 45 students
- Better campus
- Located in Kowloon
- Secondary School (DSS) School fee @ HK$4xxx (Band 1 top) - One Dragon

St Clare Primary School
- Private (School fee @ HK$3,100 approx)
- English primary school
- Smaller class of 20 students
- Additional language of French
- Located in HK Western District
- Secondary School (Government aided) Free (Band 1) - One Dragon

Above are my findings and other comments are welcome.

My daughter has both the offers but made the decision to St Clare although we are living in Kowloon side.

excuse me, may you (Piglets) share do you consider $$$ the most important? However, if you arrange school bus for your girl at primary stage, seems almost the same. Of course, you can save $$$ for secondary stage.

My girl also got offer from GH kinder, still thinking go or not, $$$ may be a problem for 15 years.

我都係咁唸, 德望而家接近四千元學費, 我怕到中學既學費唔止五千, 到時都唔知可唔可以afford, 而且st scare 一班少人d, 岩哂我個囡. 最可惜我有個仔係九龍讀書, 唔可以搬過去香港o個邊住, 而家唸緊搬去邊可以就哂兩個。

GH secondary school's academic result is not as good as the old days
university addmission rate was 83.1% only in 2009 including oversea universities

理論上每間小學都有band3學生, 只是比例不同, 德小往年每班都有幾個升唔到德中, 你去德望學校 (小學部)的討論區睇吓

德望學校 (中學部)就可能無band3學生了, 因為升唔到！

Dear parents,

A lot of the elements for picking up the school for our kids. This is very very personal. I totally agreed "Piglets" comment on both schools.

I always mentioned, show both schools to your daughter and see which one she likes most.

Both are very good traditional private primary schools. The most concern is the travel time between school and home. Pls imagine your kid has to spend 1 hour on it for the next 12 years. It will be a headach for me....I would rather to save this time for kid to take rest or on school activities. St Clare's SC will accept their P6 students who are band 1 to band 2 student. I think this is same as GH and both schools will only accpet outside students with band 1 results only. One more thing, GH has advantage over St Clare's is the campus. This is weakest point of St Clare's. If you have to pay school fee for your girls. Why not choose for bigger campus which can provide a more spacious enviroment for your girls. These are my own opinions on both schools. Hope this is helpful for parents choosing between St Clare's and GH. Now matter which school you choose, both are very good schools. Noboby knows after 12 years.

Dear Eggmama,

Surely money is one of the elements for School Selection.  I believe all parents will provide what they think is the best to their children without any doubts provided it is worth to do so.  Therefore, we have made a hard decision to move to HK side for St. Clare.  And honestly this is a hard decision for us as the cost of looking for a flat at HK Island is so high.

As mentioned before, we believe SC will suit better for my girls as classes are conducted in smaller groups (she will need special monitoring and caring) and because this is an English primary school with secondary school.

GH is also definitely a very good reputed school with good campus.  My decision only reflects my special needs of my daughter.

I hope you will also settle your choice soon as the feeling is so hard when struggling for a final decision.

Yes, they have a route from Tseung Kwan O via Kowloon East to the School. You may call the school directly for details.

As SC has a route to TKO and Kowloon East, not sure whether this would help.

I strongly agree with you and have the same situation. So, I will go with the school which is near my home. I know there are lots of girls (kinder students) travel from Kowloon to HK side (St Clare's). So, transportation is not a problem.

我相信你最好打電話問左校車安排先, 當年我女都考到st clare's, 開學前校巴公司通知我上車時間係6:50am (我只不過住銅鑼灣!)

GH primary class contains 45 students, that's what I concerned the most also, limited chance for interaction between teachers and students.
