My daughter was admitted in 蘇浙 Kindergarten, will she has the priority to study at their Primary school? Or chances are the same and need to interview again.

we got reject letter actually,
KCS is one of my target, so just search for the information before.

and one more thing, KCs has 11 classes in KG (each grade) but 4 classes in primary school, suggested many of the graduates will not stay

Not too much previous experience for reference yet. If I have not mistaken, this is the first year that the K3 students of 蘇浙 have to sit for the interview in order to gain a seat to 蘇浙 P1 . Previously, no such interview is required. So, only the parents of this year's K3 students can answer your question re privilege.

As said before, this is the first year an interview is needed for its own KG students like any outside applicants. So, I think there are keen competition.

But when I first choosed 蘇浙KG, I did not treat as I have chosen a KG with through-train loh (as it will end anyway in primary school, the 蘇浙 secondary is not good mah), I have chosen this KG because of other more important factors. To me, with through-train or not is not important, it is just a bous or one more back-up.

As the seats are very limited in Primary School and all the KG students have to sit for the P1 interview, I would suggest you treat it no privilege for the KG students to their primary school. This year even few of their nursery students are not gotten offer for K1, but they have 6 N1 classes Vs 11 K1 classes.

蘇小是一間好學校，你看他的升中派位便知道！今年的確是第一年k3要面試先可以升小一，係咪個個小朋友都收我就唔知啦，不過我個仔個班都有几個小朋友會直升小一。通常選蘇小的原因都是因為她是國語上課，一入學校除了國語便是用英語，好小見小一學生講廣東話的！所以語言方面不用担心。另外英文也會教高一級，k3讀小一英文，小一讀小二英文等等。但最大問題係好似無嘜課外活動！而且都几深，要努力讀書個隻。我本來都留左位，但抽到其他學校所以放棄，始終一個月要$4000學費！！！！

If compare with rosaryhill primary school, which is better?

For some K3 students that I know.  They did not study in KCS primary mainly for 2 reasons.

1.  They have better offers from other private and DSS schools
2.  They joined the lucky draw for aided schools to enjoy the free education

The % of promotion to from KCS K3 to P1 is not meaningful if take into account the above reasons.  But you can make reference to the number of K3 students (around 400) to number of P1 seats (around 150) if I have not remembered wrongly.

KCS primary is good, but KCS secondary I think is definately not the cup of tea for most parents sending their children to study in KCS KG or P1.

I have no idea about Rosaryhill.

Sorry, I have no information in regard of "transfer". Why not ask your friend to call the general office?

But, I just called my niece (currently KCS P2) to ask. She said there were a few 插班生 in her class when she promoted from P1 to P2 last year.....

I trust there are chances as "Musical Chair Game" happens among many schools. Ask your friend to submit 插班 application asap lah as I know many schools have cut the deadline to submit 插班 application lah.

hi,你囝囝想係P1 轉國際部,咁你而家要向學校問資料,因為以我所知,佢地係讀完K2,唔駛讀K3,就直上去國際部的,因囝囝
搭校巴時都見有咁既情況.

I learn KCIS allocate places on a 1st come 1st served basis, so seems no harm to submit the application form earlier if you are interested. I think they will allocate the place to you when your kid is of the right age to study P1.

Sorb, since you have a niece in P2, can i ask if there are a lot of homework and studying. I suppose most 'traditional schools' have quite a bit, but just relative. Do you happen to know if it is 'super busy'? Thanks

According to my experience, not so much as they usually finish the homework at home. But they might increase the homework level when you get to higher level.

my daughter is now in K3, she got an offer letter for P.1 last Friday. We went for an interview on 12 Sep (that was only for KCS kindergarten students) and a lot of interviewees were there. I think most of the K3 students may try to get an offer before they found something better.

Dreambaby, I have asked my niece this question before. She told me she ususally have 4-6 pieces of homework to do in P2. Based on my observation, it does not take her too long to finish all of them.

Danielle, based on your experience and sharing with other mums of K3, do you think KCS primary accepts the KCS K3 students mainly based on interview performance or mainly the comment from the K3 teachers. Do you need to submit portfolio too?

I also believe most K3 students will apply KCS primary as a back-up, based on the students that you know, are there a lot of KCS K3 students not being accepted or just a few?

For KCIS, there are only 2 years of kindergarten ie K1 & K2 then P1 directly, in your case if you want your son to sudty P1 at KCIS which is equalivent to K3 at KCPS kindergarten, you need to submit your application now because for P1 at KCIS, besides "first-come-first-get" the seat, there is also interview.

My son got rejected & it was a surprise to not only us as parents but also his teachers. I got a call from his teacher in the morning before 8:30am to say that he was rejected by KCPS for P1. My son got 獲K2學年「品學兼優」獎狀及「多元智能一等獎」. He was also pick by his teacher to 參加「第62屆香港學校朗誦節比賽」的幼稚園「中文朗誦」, thus I was told that, the P1 acceptance is based only on performance during "interview". Last Friday, I wrote a 求位信-蘇浙小學全日班 as suggested by his teacher & got a call yesterday from KCPS that he may go for a second interview somtimes in Oct. I guess, it's the "comment" from his teacher that my son got a second chance. WISH US LUCK!!!!

Tinhay, really shock to know this given your son's performance in K2 is so outstanding.......hope your son can finally get the offer.

Just forget it for now and have a happy mid autumn festival celebration with your son tonight. I trust he has tried his best, it is really "cruel" for a kid of 5 to attend such an interview.

Thanks to all of you but it was a shock regardless....

For my older daughter it was a "through-train" from Nursery to Primary school but with my son, only 3 years later. We have to attend one after another interviews...Our "second chance is this Sunday".
