i think st paul church may be good for boys, but not girls, and the secondary school allocation for KCS is very good, there were 91 p6 students in 2009, you can see they got very good offers

i have informed st clare, will inform SPC and TL soon
you may receive good news later
don't worry too much, just kindergarten....many people said primary is the real battle

其實最主要是遠近問題,同交通,因為細B就快出世,我自已係全識媽媽又冇請人工又冇人可幫到我,現有一間是上書房,交通比較方便,同有朋友係呢間讀過都ok,蘇浙就沒有朋友讀過,只知係一間好學校,其實我都好想清楚d,吾知有冇人可話給我知呢.

我覺得亞女讀左蘇浙幼兒班之後, 有些失望。她在各方面都沒有明顯進步。

自小她是以英文或廣東話溝通, 直至現在仍不太接受普通話教學, 理解方面也不及英文或廣東話。我認為家庭語言環境真的十分重要.

為了不影響她學習興趣, 我會give up 蘇浙, 俾佢上普通話playgroup only.

Maybe your kid is a very smart kid before entering PN, so, their level does not match her/him, so, you did not notice 明顯進步. For my kid, I did note 明顯進步 after the 1st semester in PN.

For the language, give your kid more time, we cannot expect them to get use to a new language or master a new language well in 4 months time. While my kid was in KCS PN, she also did not like me speak to her in Mandarine and reacted greatly by saying I was not a teacher. Now in K1, I sometimes try to ask her simple questions in Mandarine, she answers me in Mandarine happily.

You are more than welcome. Children's adopting ability is very "Strong", I don't think they will have too much problem if you really change a KG for her/him next year. So, choose one that you think most fits him/her personality.

My son (July 2007) just got the offer on Friday night for AM class, happy with that.

My son is currently studying N1 of KCS (PM class), he loves the school so much and he will sings Mandarin songs and English songs when he back home.

KCS is a good school, everything is very organised, teachers are so patience, which I can see from the improvement of my son.

I am totally agree with you that we should give more time for kid to learn a new language. For me, I will let my son to study K1 there. As I believe that children should have this ability to learn different language. I will try to use PTH at home now, so that he may easily to adapt to his new life there. (although my Mandarin is not good, I will still talk with him in Mandarin, my aim is... let him to feel comfortable with this language.)

My girl enjoys studying in KCS very very much. Tonight, before she has fallen asleep, she said to me: "I miss my teachers."

I think too, we should allow kids spend time to learn. You didnlt hear he speak PTH doesnlt mean he is not learning, one day he may speak out very fluent. My son ( sept 2007) recently accepted for K1 am class, he is enjoying N1 class in KCS now. I remember although he cried everyday in the first few weeks of N1 class, but he still can sing PTH songs ( sng name : How are you ?) to me after a few days school. So I think kids can learn even they cry, silent, play in school.

I think your general comments applied to all kindergartens. Not only KCS. I do agree quality of the teachers have high impact.

For KCS, the teachers have some outlines guiding what is to be taught in each lesson. I am not too worried about this. Maybe my girl is lucky, as so far, I am very satisfied with the teachers teaching my girl, both in PN and K1.

Very very occasionally, I will ask her a simple question in Mandarine (only after she attended PN to test if she really understands Mandarine. I rarely speak to her in Mandarine as my Mandarine is not good, I don't want her to follow my poor accent.)

My son is at N1 of KCS, we mainly speaks Cantonese and English at home, but from what he learnt at school, he can fully understand Mandarin, and he managed to reply in Mandarin as well, which is really amazing. Like there are a number of foreigners in the class, they managed to take class as other Chinese, and from the photos taken by the teachers, can see that they enjoy as well. This made us aware that, we should put more confidence in kids' lanqugage ability.

In terms of 品行培育, the teacher teach them via different activities and story telling, not sure how to compare with reglious school but I don't see any problem so far.

But just one thing that making me a bit worry is the primary school allocation after 3 years, do you have any idea how is it for KCS? After the 3 years study, which primary school are the kids usually go to? Or just go to KCS primary school? Is it a good one?

KCS primary school is a good one also as I know children including my niece are studying there. I think most students from KCS KG will try to interview outside primary schools too (or even participate in the primary one lucky draw) and then choose among the offers. Not necessarily stay in KCS primary school. I appreciate KCS primary as it allows you to participate in the lucky draw even you have its offer. Some private schools may not allow you to do this.

If your baby is a girl, I would say TL rather than KCS because TL has a one dragon and a better campus and facility. KCS is so small and the teachers of TL seems with more 愛心.

There is no doubt that KCG is a good school. But I think it may not suit all kind of kids. I speak English and Cantonese at home, I think I don't have a good 配套 for my kid. As I got other offers, i think I will give up KCG finally.
