I vote for St. Paul Catholic.
Free education is very attractive. English can be improved via paid tutorials outside school.

Are French lessons really useful?

actually there are around 7000 french people registered at french consulate and more than 200 french hold companies at hong kong.
around 115 million people speak as 1st or 2nd language on earth.
in europe, other than la france, belgium, switzerland, luxembourg and monaco speak french.
french is mostly a second language in africa, like tunisia, morocco, algeria... to name some of them.
about 7 million canadians are native french speakers, who are mainly live in quebec.
as in asia, you can alos find french speakers very often in vietnam, myanmar, singapore more and more, india as well. French is an administrative language in laos and cambodia.
french is a 2nd official language in some area of oceania.

how about the result from the secondary school? Which one is better? I think I would take into consideration of the secondary school as well to avoid another hassle six years later.

The new principal is from Canada and also the old girl of St. Clare's and she looks much more confidence than the old principal.  Of course, I also like the old principal as she is very kind to everybody.  I think the new principal would also put effort to her 1st year at St. Clare's.  Nobody want themselves look shame right?  I think the new principal is also a good principal.

St Clare changed its principal this year - a popular principle was forced to leave. I dont know the reasons but you should find out more...

Ms Dora Poon was also an ex-English teacher of Holy Trinity College (before she went to Canada?).  She was very respectable and popular among the students.

Sorry, I have one more Qs.  Do the Eng textbks that St clare is using are different from the one in the ordinary chinese primary school?  Most of the school uses the longman eng textbooks.  And do they have supplementary worksheet, readers and books for Eng?

If travelling time is a concern, you will need even longer time when studying in St Clare Secondary.  I have a friend who moved her daughter from St Clare to St Paul Cathloic in P4 a few years ago.  The location of St Clare Secondary was her main concern as she lived in North Point.  Plus that she has a younger daughter.

The statistics show that 06 to 07 the best 6 subjects' average mark (HKCEE) for st paul is 17.4 and for st clare is 15.  St Paul seems to be slightly better for 2 marks.  So I assume their secondary school 's result is nearly the same since it's only 2 marks different?

I vote for St. Paul Catholics, my niece studies there.  She loves her school.  Be informed that just as other schools of similar ranking, some band 1 students will choose other better secondary schools.

Ms Dora Poon became the principal of st clare's primary??? She was a very good English teacher of P6-7 in HTC. She migrated to Canada many years ago and has been back to HK for a few years.
