Many schools have changed to small class size of 25 students. So, St. Joe should have big class size (around 30+ students per class). But, don't worry. In my personal opinion, St. Joe teachers have good experience in managing and teaching big class size. My son enjoys to go to the school everyday.

請問每日有幾多樣功課呀 ?? 要用幾多時間去完成呢 ?? 係唔係每星期都要默書呢 ?? 仔仔出年會讀st. joe 小一, 麻煩你, 唔該.

Dear rolandbb,

St. Joe teaches English one grade higher. All subjects are taught in English except Religion, Music VA and PE. Of course, your son can have better transition if he has good English standard.

Don't worry. Kids can adapt themselves to new school life with ease.

因為我仔仔响屋企食晚飯好慢, 要一小時, 有d擔心佢到時食唔晒d飯.
My son also eats very slowly at home (usually 1hour + for dinner) but he is able to finish the meal within the lunch time at school . Perhaps, there is no distraction (e.g. no TV) at school, so he can eat much faster.

多唔多其他雜費呢 ??
The mis. fee is $750. There is one compulsory ECA on every Fridays. The ECA for P1 is fencing or gymnastics this year ($1300 per annual). If your son doesn't like these ECA, he can stay at the school and join other activities like drawing or handcrafts (Sorry, I don't remember whether any charge is needed.).

Only one subject - English is one grade higher. So, it is not difficult to follow.

But, if your son is now studying at an active learning type kindergarten with no homework, it is suggested to give him some trainings in the summer.

Usually, there are around 6-7 pieces of homework per day. St. Joe only posts the homework records in the school website for the 1st month - Sept.
Otherwise, both your son and you may have a hard time at the very begining.

依家佢d功課主要係寫中英文字及數學加數, 每日食完午飯後都可以自己完成. 另外請問多唔多家長活動呢 ??

Not many.

- There are 3 parent days after 3 exams.
- Other parent meetings / classes are optional.
- There is a parent meeting right before school start date (at the end of Aug this year). It is highly recommended to attend this meeting because the school will give you many school info.
