Good Morning!

My son will register Raimondi tomorrow. Wanna to know what's the time to get in nanny bus at Taikoo Shing?

May I know why you choose nanny bus instead of school bus if you are living in Taikoo? In my own opinion, school bus is much more secure than the nanny bus...(but still don't have chance to compare with their price differences)

It is about HK$720 (school bus) from Chai Wan to Raimondi. If taking single trip, multiply the fee by 0.75 for all routes.

Some kids join the school bus at Taikoo Shing actually living in Tseung Kwan O.

No matter school bus or nanny bus, they must take students at TaikooShing or Kornhill not later than 7:20am because from my experience, if we go after 7:30am there will be traffic jam and not make sure we can arrive school at 8:00am
Although school starts at 8:10am but we are advised to arrive at 8:00am
I am at Kornhill and my son will accept the school offer for 2010-2011, I am planning to take him school by taxi in morning and let him come back by school bus.

dear Itochu,
why do you choose taxi instead of school bus in the morning? if there is traffic jam problem, will it be the same headache to both school bus and taxi students?
by the way, we are thinking abt moving home to tai koo shing or kornhill. which is a better place as you suggest? we may need to rent a flat for 2 kids and 2 adults and maids.

I lived in TaikooShing for 3 years before then move to Kornhill.

From my point of view, TaikooShing brings you convenience in regards of transportation / daily life but the it is noisy, air pollution, crowd...
In Kornhill, you find three parts here - upper / middle and lower Kornhill
There is no difference between TaikooShing and lower Kornhill. I am living in upper Kornhill where is most ideal to me though a bit inconvenience.
Middle Kornhill is ok for big family (above 5 peoples)
Usually school bus line is different for TaikooShing and Kornhill, so you must consider carefully between Convenience and Living enviornment

Hello Belle,

I have no idea for choosing school bus or nanny bus as I don't know their difference. I think I need to get some info about them. However, teacher said the info about school bus will be sent to us in June 2010.

I agreed with Itochu that upper Kornhill is a quiet place to live but inconvenient in terms of transportation, marketing.
At the time I am searching for flat, I looked for Kornhill as well, however, I chose Taikoo Shing at last. The reasons are (1) I want to live near to my parents, (2) the salesale area of Taikoo Shing is high, which is around 85%.
In your case, family size is 5, you can choose 788 sf or 779 sf which have three rooms, one toilet.

Yes it will be high cost.
I plan to take taxi with my son in the morning and let him get school bus back home in the afternoon.
Taxi fee is around HKD70.-
I like to bring him school at P.1 because I want to know some more about my son and the school when he begins primary school life.

how much is the rental for the size 788 sf in taikoo? i guess north point / fortress hill is another choices for moving home as the school bus picking-up time is almost the same in taikoo route or north point route...

Hello all mums on the Island East,

I've gone to the registration today!  So happy to secure a seat for my son at this good school.  We're also moving to Taikoo Shing in a couple of months' time... 多多指教 !!

Just heard from a friend with a boy in Raimondi saying that TKS is sort of a "big station" for the school bus as plenty of Raimondians living there.  So the school bus can then leave TKS at once and head straight for the school directly, no need to wander here and there ... sounds pretty fast and good !!

Let's keep sharing in the meantime 'cos the nearest time that we can hear from the school will only be June/July 2010 ...  seems so remote ...

I also have such planning to accompany Ronnie to school then go to work (in Central). But, I don't know if there is bus going to Central near school instead of MTR (far away from school). Anyway, will think and check it later.

At Admiralty, you can either take a taxi or green minibus (24A at 7:30 a.m.). I know a parent doing this and he is woriking in WanChai. However, he drives to school every day starting from last week. He told be that a lot of construcion workers working in Siu Fai Terrace taking the same mini bus and he could hardly cram for a seat with his boy these days.
