Hello, those mami,

I really need some advice.  My son is a small bb. (He is born in Sept 2007).  He is studying in Think now, but also gets acceptance letters from Stafford and St. Nicholas.  All are in a.m. classes.  I don't know which one is better, can anyone give me some suggestions?
  Thanks a lot!

From a mami who doesn't know how to choose

Yvonne, I am in the same case as you. Got AM offers for SN, THINK & Stafford. Finally, we decide to pay for SN & Stafford (decide later) but give up THINK.

In fact, we think THINK is ideal also in communication development.

To choose among them, you better ask yourself what primary school you want the kid goes to in future & what is your expectation for the school.

This is the comparsion I made, hope you get your & other mamas inputs if you hve diff thoughts :

Small class scale : all are similar

English enviornment : THINK & Stafford

Mandarin : THINK

Fit for local stream : SN (1st) & Stafford goes next.

I plan to have my kid studies in local school in future & want her to develop good native english communication skills in KG (I guess it is hard to learn at my home & it should benefit school interview in future.)
Hope the school homework is not too little or easy else it is hard to catch up in P1. Therefore, seems like THINK doesn't fit.

For Mandarin, I think either SN & Stafford are not enough. Additional training outside is needed.

My husband doesn't recommend learning Mandarin only in school (no cantonese) too early if both of us don't speak mandarin at home. A lot of ppl said kids can pick up language quick but in terms of kid's understand & expression development, we found it will delay kids thinking process if they learn mandarin in school but speaks cantonese at home.

hi, 6321

Thank you so much for your information.  In fact, it is very difficult for me to make a choice.  I always worry I will make wrong decision for my son.
For me, 'Think' has the following advantages:
1.  my son is familiar with the environment (as he is studying there)
2.  the teachers are quite nice
3.  some ppl said her English is OK

Stafford's English seems better than Think, but I am afraid its Cambridge course is too difficult for my son.  (he is a small bb, and till now he is not very good at speaking)

In fact, I have no idea about St Nicholas.  However, the teacher who interviewed my son was very good (as she knew how to motivate my son).

Another consideration:
If my son studies in Think, grandma is able to take him to school (as Think is near our home), but if he studies in Stafford / St. Nicholas, he needs to go to school by school bus.

Also, can anyone tell me the amount of homework at Think?  Do the kids need to do homework?  Is the homework very easy / little?

Hope someone can give me the answer.  Thanks!

Hi Yvonne,

I heard Think will move next year! I like Think also because it's convenient for me (right in front of the bus stop), but next year I heard they will move to Lincoln Rd or somewhere further away...you may want to take this into consideration!
