1. 英華小學的功課多嗎? 要花多少時間去完成一天的功課?

3. 閱讀風氣如何?

4. 我對林校長有信心, 但是其他老師的表現如何呢? 他們是否也跟隨林校長的教學理念?

我都打算比個仔入讀e間.....請問考面試有什麼野考呢...希望熱心家長指點一下....:)

1. 英華小學的功課多嗎? 要花多少時間去完成一天的功課?

2 hrs. or less..depends on kid's mood.

2. 測驗/默書多嗎?

dictation..once a week for both Chinese and Eng.

測驗....twice a year prior to term exam.  However, it is not really a test and the format is actually an exam.

10 pages exam material at least for each subject.  same as exam..no difference..you may call it

four exams a year
or one test three exam
or two test two exam or
no exam only four test.....

3. 閱讀風氣如何?

reading incentive program in school.  you could expect they read alot.

If you want kid to have good reading habit, cut all TV or video games.

Then your kid will have no choice or other attraction...but read.

4. 我對林校長有信心, 但是其他老師的表現如何呢? 他們是否也跟隨林校長的教學理念?

Principal is doing her job very well.

For the teachers, your kid will love them and they mix very well with the children.  They are young and not poker face.

For teaching, do believe Parent is teacher of their children.

Both yourself and children would be benefit from teaching and learning.

School exam material is very difficult.  Eng is two to three level ahead.
Student starts composition in P.1 and replying a letter in P.2 1st term.

囝囝讀一年級,補充番少少而家佢既情況.

1. 英華小學的功課多嗎? 要花多少時間去完成一天的功課?===>樣數可以講得都多架,不過好多都可以做得好快,通常一個鐘都ok.但係可以自己做好多網上功課,囝囝有5樣可以做既,咁就會用多半個鐘左右.

2. 測驗/默書多嗎? ===>直到目前為止,多數都係隔住來默書既,即係一個星期有中,一個星期有英.兩樣亦分左大默同小默,今個禮拜先係第一次有兩樣既小默分別響tue同thu出現啫.遲d會唔會個個星期都有兩樣就唔知啦.但係默書範圍早成兩個星期前就通知既啦.

我覺得間歇性多功課。有時唔係好多字寫，只係要花時間諗，所以做功課做得耐。45mins-2hr會做完。

P2一星期一次中&英默

應該幾好。

4. 我對林校長有信心, 但是其他老師的表現如何呢? 他們是否也跟隨林校長的教學理念?
老師都好有心，好積極做事。當然唔同老師性格唔會一樣，但我見老師們都好投入工作。

請問有無去港島中西區既校車? 如果有, 早上幾點上車? 轉了直資之後, 多唔多學生住港島區?

I don't think tutorials are really helpful.

English environment is good. English teachers speak only English in school. Students have to speak English in English classes. Is it adequate? It depends what you'd ask for a local CMI school.

Hi fsforth,

i am also waiting for the result from 2nd interview and an "hongkonger", i know there is no official school bus to hk. if we are selected, the only source is nanny minibus, do you have any ideas or information?

me too. I may consider to move to Kln side.
Did Principle Lam ask you why you apply YW as you live in HK island which is very far away

yes, ms lam did ask us about the far distance and how we could handle it. but to be honest, this is the school i think its worth moving to kln side....otherwise, we should seriously look for a good nanny bus service.....

住得遠應該都唔會再係問題既啦.最近都有唔少同學仔搬屋,覺得遠既,自然會搬近d既啦.

if we are accepted, we will try the transportation first until he cannot afford long distance travelliing. actually, if there is a direct nanny bus service, it should only take round 30 mins. so i dont even mind to share taxi with other HKger family.....

如果真係收左我個仔, 到時最好的方法是問下校方收左幾多個港島人, 再一起跟校車公司研究加港島線的可行性和車費, 林校長都講過, 如果是港島西還可以接受, 如果是港島東區就太遠了! 最佳路線是由東至西pick up 哂學生, 再由西隧過海, 不過, 我expect 會幾貴下, 但如果平過taxi 我都會接受, 最後, 都係個句, 幾日後真係收左先算!
