唔知今日有幾多人in? 有無人下午in? 如果有, 可能會過一千人喎?!

半小時一批人 (4/f + 5/f + 6/f ) x 5 groups x 6 人一group = 90人

if ...if...if.... 8 hrs x 2 x 90 = 1440~ oh..

As far as I know, the main purpose of having the 2nd round admission in June every year is to select those good candidates who prefer to join the “lucky draw” and the final results of the government allocation will only be released in June.
Some of these good candidates may not apply for TSL in the 1st round or they may give up the offer even given the chance, hoping to get good allocation results.
But in case some of these good candidates cannot get satisfactory allocation results at the end, they may want to apply for TSL by that time.

The 2nd round admission is basically independent from the 1st round admission.
Those who fail in the 1st round admission can apply for the 2nd round admission again and I guess the school will treat the application for the 2nd round independent from whatever the results of the 1st round admission are.

The target number for the 1st round admission should be around 150.
However, there must be some candidates who will not take the offer due to different reasons such as wanting to join the “lucky draw” or they may have other suitable choices by their own criteria.

There is a waiting list for the 1st round admission.
In case some of the successful candidates do not register by the deadline, those on the waiting list will be called to register.

I have just written the main reason of having the 2nd round admission in my previous post.

我估计，在所有拿到TSLoffer的人里，有一定数目的人都将会有其他超级名校的offer,但他们肯定在11月底之前还不知道其他学校的结果，所以在11月24，25号会give up 的应该不多，如果一心要等喇沙，玛利诺的，也不会申请直资。但12月过后，那几间超级名校的offer发出后，陆陆续续，那些家长就会把TSL放出去，所以，明年6月第二轮的位置，可能比想象中的多。
不知道这样想法对不对。

In the previous years, there were around 500 applicants for the 2nd round P1 admission in June.
My guess is that the number of vacancy should be 25++ (not sure about the exact number?).

But we do not know the number of applicants for the 2nd round admission for this school year at this stage.

You are probably right.

The final number of vacancy for the 2nd round will also depend on how soon those parents who have got the offer will inform the school about their final decision .
Some parents are more considerate and they will inform the school immediately after they decide not to take the ofer.
But some do not do that and will hold the offer till June/July next year.

我个人来说，我觉得TSL很适合我儿子的性格个性，相信他如果有机会在这里读书的话，他跟我们两夫妇都会有个better life.只是，万一如果有一间超级名校，以后又不需烦升中，那就会是两难局面。当然，基于在那些学校的家长报料，都知道一点都不轻松，我也会怀疑我儿子可不可以适应。
我现在真的很希望他可以拿到TSL的offer.

You know I prefer that funny one I always add at the end of my posts.

2) As for the P1-P5 Mid-Year admission, it is not totally new.
I have noticed mid-year admission like that since the past 1-2 years.
I guess there is rather limited vacancy available for reasons like some pupils emigrate to overseas countries after the new school term starts and so on and the school does not want such seats to be wasted.

But in case the reason I just mentioned happened to P1 pupils this year, they may include the admission for P1 pupils as well.

This mid-year admission for P1 should be for current P1 pupils from other schools only (not for K3) and I think the successful candidates will join the new school term in Jan, 2010.

TSL is also my favorite, too. The only concern is that after 6 years, we have to find a secondary school.

Besides international schools, does anyone know any GOOD mainstrem secondary schools that teach Japanese / French as an elective ?

Thank you for your feedback. It appears you've done a lot of reserch about TSL and it has been your choice for your son long time ago.

I attended their open day early this year and I was quite impressed. Since then, TSL has been my first choice. Surprisingly, many people prefer CKY than TSL. I have little doubt that I prefer TSL. Sadly my daugther was not feeling well last Sat. I am not optimistic she can win a seat facing so many bright candidates that day. If no good news for the first round, I will have her to try TSL again during 2nd round. Hopefully see you son at TSL next year.

CKY and TSL have different system.
so it's quite apple and orange comparison between them.
if you agree with the IB system. that's something TSL can't offer.
and i do think they are both very good schools!
just have different match to the right child, that's all!
we didn't select any international school thus no IB system for our son. so that's why we didn't consider CKY. however, we do know friends of our son choose this school and i'm sure they have their right reason.

we have been to Camoes open day both last year and this year, after talked with parents, pupils and teachers, all our family find that this school is great match to our sons and us, me and my wife! we just feel comfortable and trustful to let our son spending the next 6 years and most of his daytime at this school.
what can we ask more?!!!?!!

by the way, i'm surprise that you said that : "many people prefer CKY than TSL." ......

at least 3080 child's parents would think different way...

anyway, good luck to both our children! If no good news for the first round, I will have him to try TSL again during 2nd round as well!!!

Yes, our e-Principal is correct, no need to prepare any letters for you. I think you don't need to try the 2nd round too. The most important thing to do is to think about our party, what kinds of food we would like to have in your celebration party. yummy yummy.
