My son attended 1st interview on 20Oct.. still no news from school..

My son conducted the interview on around Oct 20 and rec'd the call on Nov 7. As I was out of HK last week, I postpone the 2nd interview till today.

My girl had her 1st interview on 12/11. Seems we need to wait at least 2 weeks to know if she gets shortlisted to the 2nd interview.

我個仔20/10 1st In，10/11 2nd In，21/11收到取錄信，每個步驟相隔10-12日。

Suprisingly, I got a call yesterday and the 2nd inteview will be arranged on Mon. My first inteview date is 9 Nov. I knew that there were many kids slected for 2nd interview, but only few of them are successful . Therefore, we still do not expect too much.

我個仔讀SC，2nd in時他與副校長是全程以英文對話，但內容都是閒話家常，沒有問學術方面的問題。in 家長部份，副校長很著重父母與子女的溝通程度，是否明白子女的喜好，更重要的是有否為子女培養閱讀興趣。

另外，據說此校只收80多人，另預留20個位給外籍人士。

我地 second in 左了, 比我想像中簡單很多. 只問左小朋8 -10 minutes普通日常問題, 問了我3條問題就話無野問,再問我有咩問.

My son was accepted by St. Margaret. The second was on 4 Nov,09 by the Vice Principal Ms Lee Lan Yuen, You can go to their web site and search for her background.

Firstly, my son went in her room and stayed for about 10-15 mins. She used English plus Cantonese for the interview. She asked questions like which books you like the most and why, what kind of activities you like the most  and why and which famous person you like the most and why.

Then a staff asked us to join together.Ms Lee asked us how to spend time with him and our expectations on his education. Then she will let us to ask her questions about the school. At that time, you must ask something to show you are keen on this school. I have asked how is the school carrying out her 3 words 4 languages policy and how can the school build up her student's art and sport telents as well as get a good  academic results. Ms Lee has spent 20 mins in answering my questions. She is a very kind and hearted lady, and gave me a very good impression. So I hope I can answer your question.

BTW, I got a headache question.Expect the 聖瑪加利男女英文中小學 , my son is also accepted by 軒尼詩道官立小學,  九龍禮賢學校 and 保良局陳守仁小學. We also finished the second interview of 拔萃男書院附屬小學 ( final result should be available in mid of Dec.) Each school is a very good one to me! Of course my dream school is DBS, but in case he fails, I think my second choice is St. Margaret rather than the others, can anyone  give your opion?

一家三口,
Oh yes, SMC does not count the siblings studying in. That's an headache. My 2nd daughter is an "golden pig" and she will need to fight for her own to get a place in DSS/Private school. At least you have any advantage coz you understand what kind of children SMC is looking for and prepare your youger princess.

30/11前註冊，今天已註冊。註冊後我逗留學校一段時間觀察一下學生的表現，發現有6位約小一、二的學生在校務處旁借用電話，當中有3位是外籍學生，十分欣喜他們都以英語溝通，但再觀察校內其他學生，較高年班的尤其中學生，發現他們大都以廣東話溝通，未知是否因為該校在2003才轉直資有關。

Hi Igloo,

Yes, SMCE Primary was 1st set up as a DSS in 2002/2003. That's why primary pupils are in general more proficiency in English than it's secondary pupils. But this year the SMCE primary has its own primary pupils going into SMCE secondary

but not every school's handbook has such info. My younger daughter's school handbook does not contain such info. Learning objectives are covered in a separate report.

I don't know whether the 2nd interviews are still going on, I hope the information are still useful. As far as I can remember (it's already in Oct.), we don't need to bring our school handbooks then. Ms Lee asked my kid somethings about her daily life and what types of interest groups she had attended (with referred to the profile provided).
