The acceptance letter has stated ïnternational kindergarten bilingual English/Putonghua as I have specified to them when I submitted the form and I have seen the teacher particularly stated for me on the form as well.

以我所知N1係一半時間粵,一半時間英,到了K3就普英,K1,K2就唔知喇,如果係國際班就係FOR小朋友讀國際小學.應該都係全英了...

唔知每間分校是否不同, 以美孚分校為例, 佢的網上申請表有講:

n班: 只係有粵英班 (沒有全英班及普英班)

k1-k2: 上午班為粵英班, 下午班為普英班 (如果想讀普英班, 只好讀下午班)

k3: 上下午班一律為普英班

My kid has received the offer also -- AM (english cantonese class). I have called the school & got similar information.

Btw, there are 2 class teacher (1 NET & local).

For K2 & K3, all english cantonese class will change to english mandarin class (2 hrs english & 1 hr mandarin).

It is quite attractive since it seems have more English time compare with other school.

But I am a bit concern on Primary school placement. Anyone can give comment? Do you plan to put kid in int'l or local school in future?

The school lady said they will publish P1 placement result on web next week.

Most kids will go to DSS school (not local school) since they focus on creative thinking & english. 1 boy goes to DPS & 1 gal goes to Maryknoll last yr.

My daughter also got accepted for KLT Cantonese/English pm class....but is Think a good school? It is quite expensive....

Compared to Stafford (also accepted) which is better? Can anyone help? I must pay the deposit soon...

I do agree that THINK is quite expensive, but there's no other miscellaneous fee. I don't know if other private KG also includes those miscellaneous fee in their school fee or not.

what do you mean no miscellaneous fee? They also have book fees/uniform fees etc...also, from the talk, they have many excursions during the year. Do those cost extra money?

Jeco, per my understanding, THINK kids will mostly go to DSS active learning approach school or International school. If you plan to put kid in "traditional local school" in future, I guess THINK is not fit. I have the same concern also & therefore, I am still paying to pay deposit or not.

I have another 3 schools on hand & is still thinking, don't want to pay deposit for all coz it is expensive.

Will you attend St Cat interview tmr?

I think it will be a trend for schools to use PTH in teaching CHI in Primary and secondary .. esp those so called famous school

I also agree with Jeco. I think our children will have enough exposure in Cantonese at home, so it will be ok even if they don't study Cantonese at school. And yes, the trend is to have good English and PTH skills, and studying PTH can actually help the child in Chinese writing in Primary/Secondary. But the problem is.....I don't know PTH!!!

me too .. I don't know PTH ... haahahah so I have to rely on external sources e.g. schs/ tutorials to teach my son!

Actually, I prefer Eng/PTH more than Eng/Cantonese for K2 & k3, I think it is better to learn chinese using PTH in reading & writing prospective. I also think the 2 hrs english daily is very attractive.

My concern is whether they have enough writing to make kids be prepared for local P1 study. So far, my friends' kids are all going to DSS active learning school but not traditional school.

We most likely will pay deposit first & decide later.

Somethings wrong on the application form when I submitted. I wrote my kid was born in 2009. When I submitted the form, the teacher amended the birth year to 2007. That why they gave me the class on UN... Today I called them and changed back to LN already.

DPS - diocesan preparatory school (not the one with linkage with DBS).

Btw, they have published P1 placement result on web but they only published some result only, since they published IS result as well but still very little. I am a bit worry the allocation for the rest.

Anyone can help?????

Hi 各位 MAMI, 跟你們分享一下囡囡返 THINK 的情況

我囡囡係 10份BB, 剛剛才於11月2日 (足兩歲)上 THINK (KLN TONG) 的 N1 班, 上了約兩星期堂, 感覺尚算OK, 囡囡雖然初初兩日有少少 CRY, 但每日都話要返學.
老師稱每日英文堂 (由 NET 老師) 一小時 (時間比其他 KG的是多, 通常只有15分鐘)
老師於返學後第二日打比我講囡囡情況, 去了一次旅行 (大人 $100 / 小朋友 $60 唔包食)
除了比左一次書簿費及校服費, 暫時未有話有其他費用. 明天開生日會都無話要比錢

另外, 老公同事個囡囡由 THINK 畢業入左 MARYKNOLL, 佢同事話囡囡 D 英文完全可以跟上, 反而見有些同學跟唔同.

SO FAR 覺得 THINK 是所好學校, 但學費就真係比較貴

We have the offer & deposit deadline is Nov 14, still struggling on paying or not.

I like the english & PTH environment there but afraid on P1 allocation...

囡囡11月初插班時是 1:6 (可見都收6-8個細 B), 依家正式上堂就 1:15 左右, 我諗 K1 都是這數字

由於我囡囡無咩優勢分 (15分), 都打算是大抽獎, 所以無特別關注 THINK 的 P1 allocation, 只是想幫囡囡打好基礎, 日後上小學能銜接順利

我今日去交留位費, 問左少少資料可以update下大家.
校方話因為等緊批, 所以新校舍暫時最快都要出年五月先搬到.而舊校舍會用黎做小學部. 新果邊我好8甘去睇過, 得座building, 重好似地盤甘. 睇落同舊校面積差不多....可能重大少少....

佢地k班am得四班, 校長話師生比例係1:12, 如果1:15就會放多一個老師, 我覺得甘又好好喎.

今日去完, 見到幾位小朋友返緊生日會, 感覺地方大大, 人少少, 真係好舒服, 印象分大增呀!

我同個女報英普班o架, 從來都唔擔心學中文上問題, 因為來緊世界小學都係趨向英普教學啦!我反而想個女早啲學普通話!除非你係屋企唔同佢廣東話o者, 唔係一家識講架!?!寫野方面, 識普通話我覺得重好播!

We have received the offer from Stafford today & most likely, we will take it coz it has NET as class teacher & in AM class. It is quite similar as THINK except for the mandarin part.
But, since we have paid deposit in SN, we will go for April open day before finalize the plan.

Which is your most ideal one among all these schools?

6321, I gave up stafford because i think the tuition is too expensive...it is already $36xx and they will adjust it next year. York said they will adjust from current $3000 to $3500-3600...since they are sister schools...I believe stafford will adjust the same percentage...which then will end up more expensive than Think!!! So I am deciding btw Think and York instead...waiting for SC and SN. How will you choose btw SN and York? SN is a lot cheaper, but I don't know about the quality of the school. Any comments? My first choice is defintely SC, but chance is very slim because my bb is 0711 bb.
