我係10月24日interivew. 比起Creative, 嶺南比較輕鬆同愉快!
記得in完Creative, 心情很低落, 好有壓力, 而且, 囡囡有好多都唔識做. 嶺南的老師好nice, 好似傾計咁, 感覺良好.

which creative u interviewed? my daughter also interviewed creative "Hung fa cheun" last sat. Quite lots of people! The teachers asked a lot of questions...but i think nevermind la, i dont think many kids could ans or followed what to do la!

Dear mommies,
My boy's interview was in last Sat. There were so many ppl!! and because of this + swine flu, there's no "Formal" interview. Just a group of kids gathered in the classroom(w/ parents), and played w/ a basket of "lego" toys in front of them.
Teachers just observed aside, the only time we have a chance to talk to them was, they asked if you would accept afternoon class, since the coming 2 years (morning classes are already full).
After the interview, the teacher would lead a tour to introduce the campus. Result will be released in a week time.
Overall, comments of the school are good. But they are more focus on Chinese teaching, so if you want your kids to explore more English in N - K 3, this may not be the best choice. For us, we prefer our kid to have a strong base, and to learn one language at a time. So it's good.

Hi Paris, what time was your interview? Our interview was also on last Sat, but was quite formal that we were also in the classroom with many other kids and parents, but teacher did come to each family and asked us questions, also asked the children questions....

I think the school teaches English as well and I found few foreign teachers there at the campus. Plus, the Chinese Teacher spoke impressively good english. So I doubt if it only focus on one language.

Both my hubby any myself like this school a lot. Although we will have another interview for 衛理堂 in late Nov.
They got my boy in the AM class too. will start Aug 10. :)

Hello parents,
We have also applied for Lingnan too. We couldn't go to the first interview because my son was sick. Would anyone know when will the next round be after November? I still haven't received the rescheduling letter although the teacher did promise to reschedule.
And how much is the 'reservation fee' for full day?

Hello!
I just got a letter from Lingnan for another interview on 28/11. I may meet you there then 天賜小公主.
But I also received an acceptance letter from 玫瑰崗 today. 
It seems many mothers are considering Lingnan and RHS. I think one if more focused on Chinese while the other on English. Any comments to share please?

Hi Meowji,
Depends on when you want to let you son start. Usually apply one year before he goes to school.
It means if you want him to start nursery (2 yo class), you need to apply in 2010. If you want him to go straight to K1 (from 2yr 8 mths), you need to apply in 2011. Schools have different application period but usually between Aug and Dec. Pls check with the schools that you like for the exact date.

No, my son was sick for their first interview so they have kindly re-arrange another interview for us. Don't worry, no 2nd interview for the successful applicant. :)

Which class are u in? AM/PM/whole day?
Personally, I prefer Rosaryhill for its campus and English but saw some bad comments on its principal in BK forum. So also want to see Lingnan and 靈糧堂.
Is Rosaryhill your final choice?

i got letter today from rosary hill and we failed. anyway, i will now stick to lingnan. lucky still have a choice. here is my friend's comment:
嶺南幼稚園的課程同嶺南小學的課程應該係有連接，所以幼稚園應該係預備升嶺南小學而作準備，咁自然考嶺南小學時會著數d啦，而且嶺南小學都幾好的。至於嶺南中學係直資定私校定津校，我就唔清楚。如果佢係直資，就應該係一條龍上中學，唔駛升中一時再煩一次。
同埋佢有嶺南大學做後盾，教學資源應該會好。

Rosaryhill also accepted my daughter. And pending liang nan interview on 28 Nov(perhaps planning not go...). Is liang nan really gd? She also interviewed KCS on 14 Nov. I am also living in HK east, now rosaryhill, ming wai and creative(Hang fa chuen) accepted her. And i have also applied victoria. Among the above, how should i ranking??? Please help!

Just my own opinion:
RHS and lingnan accepted my kid. Pending KCS result, and waiting for Victoria interview. If all schools accept my kid, i will choose (1) Victoria first, then (2) RHS for N1 class.
I like KCS, but the problem for myself is that it is not "through train" to N1, so need to interview for K1 again. Hearsay that a few kids in a class cannot get K1 offer. Though chance to get into K1 is almost 90%, but after going through all these interviews this year, I don't want to gamble again.
RHS & Lingnan are through train from N1 to K1. Between these two, rhs has larger campus, good balance between eng, cantonese, mandarin, whereas Lingnan doesn't have much English. But Lingan is a good school too, heard it's teaching method is good, and their philosophy is that learning through a kid's first language is most effective therefore they mostly use cantonese as medium of instruction. Just personal preferance, i want tri-lingual teaching environment so I will pick RHS and Victoria over Lingnan.
As for Victoria, honesely speaking, the cirriculum & comments of many schools are at least on the par with (or even better) than Victoria. But what's good about it is that it's through-train to K1, no interview is needed and hence less pressure on parents' side. It has primary & secondary school to back up (though expensive, and not all K3 students can get a seat in P1). The school is up to standard, and won't fall far from expectation. The drawback of Victoria Nursery and Kindergarten is that the fee is very expensive, and can't use goverment voucher to pay the fee. So it'll cost a few thousands dollars per month from N1 up to K3. Some parents may choose to save these few thousands dollars / month for other ECAs.

我已經交咗”嶺南”留位費($660), 起碼有一間學校係手。 有朋友話”嶺南”好, 小朋友讀得開心, 老師很caring, 不過程度淺, 但亦有人話佢地的老師唔好而退學, 老實講, 都係睇你彩數, 間間學校都有好同唔好的老師。我無報”玫瑰崗”, 只係報咗”北角衛理堂”、”小西灣迦南”(明天衛理堂同迦南面試)、”蘇浙(下星期六面試)”西灣河明我(2010年3月面試)”, 仲諗緊報唔報”Victoria”(最近這幾年的口碑唔好, 好商業化, 老師無愛心, 學費貴
…)。
當然希望考到”蘇浙”, 但真係要好好彩, 如果考到真係要買六合彩!
已經預咗要交1-3間學校的留位費, 到有齊結果再諗讀邊間, 無辦法啦
…..

好多人都誤會嶺南係偏向中文教學.事實係,佢唔主張好似好多學校咁,主力宣傳英文教學
佢地宗旨係,讀完KINDER,小朋友唔會唔識中文.

As I lived in Siu Sai Wan (小西灣), hence the travel time is my main concern (guess at least take 45mins even by school bus).
Moreover, I’m a bit worries for my son to travel alone on school bus for such a long time.

佢地PN好似未開始教MANDARIN, 不過有英文堂,有教英文歌. 我個女讀左上學期, 都識一半英文字母 (好似係有個叫MS. TSUI教英文).
我知RHS教多啲,好似一個WEEK一隻字母,BUT 教左小朋友咪又係唔一定識, 因為又唔會考試比分.
個人覺得,PN最重要係比小朋友學自理,學群體生活,所以,佢就算N1後唔多識英文我都唔MIND (有好多小朋友無讀N1,咪又係K1先學!!) 嶺南都有部份學生係鬼仔/妹,佢地都專程黎想學下中文! 我就想我啲女打好中文基礎先, 因為中文比英文難好多.
你一味諗佢要學咩學咩, 但佢去到K1重係瀨尿,唔同小朋友玩,咁學校教几多佢都唔吸收啦.
我本來住干德道,後來大肚,間屋唔夠大,搬左去九龍 (想遲啲搬番黎, TARGET 緊北半). 但係我從事金融工作, 睇日本市日日準時放4:30PM同響灣仔番工,所以我安排校車
響灣仔上落,我自己帶佢番屋企.
校車安全既, 只要你唔好諗太多野.
絕大部份家長都係比小朋友坐校車番,因為就算你想揸車送佢,都最多可以泊小學果邊既車位,再坐接駁車/自己經小學條路上去.

我未必比個女去嶺小,因為我心水唔係呢間,雖然佢都係一間唔錯既小學. 聽聞每年只有好少人會直上,唔係人地唔比位,而係好多家長想去第二間小學.
嶺南KINDER既小朋友好受好多好既小學歡迎.你提既小學,都係佢地學生主要既出路.
