My poor kid's average is always below 80 and is still hanging around the school. I don't think point 3 is true. 6 pieces of homework for a P.5 student is not too much. I would say it's reasonable.

Where do you come from?

I have friends who have kids studying in these schools.  It is TOTALLY NOT what you mentioned.

Workload is higher than international schools but in line with most traditional schools.  These schools admit high academic calibre kids.  If the kids fall within this category, they won't feel hard nor difficult.  Those who consider tough are usually at the borderline.

If you do not think your kid would fall in that category, please avoid.  Otherwise, it would be as what you mentioned.

Kids studying in thess schools can attain high academic achievement but, to certain extent, have to give up some leisure time activities.  You gain something, you lose something.

一開始, 我就覺得那個標題[3 great torture private schools]太過偏激, 而且過份主觀. 香港有很多私立小學, 為何有此結論? 發表人是否有做過任何比較? 分析? 或只是人云亦云呢? 這樣對那些學校十分不公平. Good Hope and St. Francis我都有熟朋友之孩子在那兒讀書, 他們各人都十分精靈, 活潑, 家長亦如大家一般, 都是上班一族. 他們(家長及孩子)對所就讀的學校都表示十分滿意. :) :) :)

We are all adults and have critical thinking. We try to learn about schools from different sources, like from friends, teachers and the web. I would not post such controversial comments on a particular school unless I work inside. I am responsible for what I say, though it's just a cyber world. I hope as parents, we try to be objective.
