Why there is no parent to talk about this?

My son attended the interview last Sat and he said there was story & questions (group purpose) & 1-to-1 with teacher sections. He was being asked for a couple of questions but forgot what they were. His interview was short and only lasted for around 20 mins. Not too sure how the school can evaluate each student.

Any comments from other parents?

Indeed very few sharing about this school's interview. There were more last year. My kid said the following questions were asked:

Her name, age, where does she live, what does she like to do, may be few more other questions, don't quite remember them myself.

She also said a few questions were also asked in Mandarin and English.

First, when the kids were waiting to be brought for the interview, the teachers let them sit around the table to draw pictures.
Then they were brought to somewhere to have interview as a group of 7 to 8.
After the interview, my girl said that they watched cartoon, then answer questions abt the cartoon. She said that the teacher only asked abt her name in Eng, putonghua and cantonese (I don't know if that is true cos' it seems to be strange to be to ask the same Q in three different language). She was very happy after the interview. And she likes this school the most!

almost the same as what you described.
my kid said watched cartoon, then answer questions about the cartoon.

Then the teacher asked question about parents' occupation, home address, etc.

Then the teacher asked to introduce yourself in English.

Then finish.

Did all sessions so far include group interview (eg the teacher ask questions and kids raise their hands for answering the questions)?

Were children required to tell story or order some picture cards to tell story?

Any maths? jigzaw? read story book?

yes, my son told me the similar process about the interview. He told me that they went to watch a video and then were called into one to one interview, there were Phutonghau, english questions (we have selected cantonese as the interview language).

No puzzles and reading time.

During the tours by students, I saw that the kids will seat in front of the classroom and the teachers will do some action e.g. claps hands and stamp the feet and ask the kids to follow.

Anyone know why St Stephen only announce the result on Jan 2010? Since they only conduct 1 interview, why do they take so long to announce the result?

Last year, they announced in late November. If I have not remember wrongly

Yes, they annouced it earlier last year. But this year, they will announce it on Jan as mentioned on the back of the interview card.

maybe many people drop out after the announcement of spcc, dbs, dgjs and they need to call the waiting list and have a lot of admin. work to do.

I see....thanks. (I did not notice that there was such message at the back of the interview card until reading your posts and having checked the card.)

It's also after the date of annoucing 1st round result (for gov't/subsidized schools).

Yes that's what I thought so about they delayed their announcement date, and this makes sense right?! 'Because most applying the above elite schools would also apply SSCPS.

Last year, my son received the acceptance letter on 8th November,2008 (Saturday). The registration fee was paid on 25/11/2008 for HK$5,500.- and signed the letter for give up the lucky draw.

Afterwards, the school called (by phone and letter) for the second round students to reg. and then sending out the waiting-list letter before the New Year.

There was first parents day for the P1 students on 10th January,2009 (Saturday).

It will be good.........I want to know the result earlier.............

The year before, we received the letter of acceptance on Halloween.

Then, we have to do the registration and sign a form to give up lucky draw before the deadline of submitting the lucky draw form.

Afterwards, within a month, some of my friends received 2nd batch acceptance letters.

By the end of January, the school will send out letter to all applicants informing them whether they are on waiting list or unsuccessful.

So I believe this is the school's usual practice.
