My son attended today's interview and I think he enjoyed it very much. How's your kids?

My boy told me that there were story & questions, painting picture, drawing card, playing bowling, 1-to-1 with teacher, reading Chinese & English books and maths (division).

May I ask if your kids told you the same?

我的女兒是L302, 她說有些小朋友玩玩具, 有些小朋友玩遊戲(跟老師一起), 而她選了玩玩具(LEGO)及畫畫, 並沒有跟老師講故事及看書. 只是問了以下兩條問題: 1)9-1=? 2)他說把兩個BALL放在一個盒裏, 如果現在有八個BALL, 請問需要幾多個盒呢? 而我的小朋友只懂答第一條問題而第二條她答錯了. 我覺得第二條問題對於一個K3學生好像深了一點不知大家認同嗎? 定還是我的小朋友比較差呢? 我追不上時代呢?

Agree.....division for K3 students is a bit too difficult....

Re what your daughter told you, I think it's quite true as my friend's daughter also told her the same but her version also had story & questions section as well.

My daughter attended Sunday’s interview too. The first thing about the interview she told me is “I don’t remember”! I was quite disappointed as her answer might imply that she was not doing well in the interview. But I also thought that she, a little girl who was only four-year-old, was a bit difficult to perform what I/the school expected her to perform. I hugged and kissed her for showing my understanding and support. It’s okay little girl. You have tried your very best anyway.

She was happy. I think she enjoyed the interview though she could not “report” to me in an organized way. She told me more bit by bit later on the day though I believe there are still a lot missing. Story and questions, making a card with her name on it for someone she love, then candidates could play the toys there after finishing making the card. I think the last part is to see whether they can accomplish a task well before going to play.

I don’t know how well or how bad she did until Oct 19.

My son's version:

story telling - one chinese book & one english book

maths - the only question is 7-3=4.

drawing - he told me that he drew daddy only. i asked him how about me and he said ... forgot

painting - maybe kids were required to finish one picture. he said that many kids went for the tigger and it was very crowded there. so he chose another character.

watch TV then leave.

when i asked him that he preferred dbs or HKUGA, he chose the later one and the reason was 'better environment'. sounds like impossible as dbs's campus is bigger and have more facilities.

after discussion with my husband and we noticed finally coz HKUGA is a co-ed and he met many girls here. (he told me before that his preferece is co-ed school.)

He is humble and the content in the short briefing is better and touching.

The tall man is one of the vice principals. I agreed his talk made me feel touched as well.

That tall man didn't introduce himself (or he introduced himself before the parents' arrival?) There were about 15 parents there when I entered the hall. Correct me if I am wrong.

Regarding the content of what he said, it was nothing special that he kept emphasizing the school appreciated what the student did than what they achieved, the school encouraged the students to develop.....parents should pay attention to what the school did than what the school target to do....and those were the important factors for parents to choose the "right" schools for their kids.

By the way, the music show was good but the drama just focuses on those four main characters only. I expect the movie can tell us more....

by the way, 好難想像interview有除數.........我女o係入面讀, 3年級至學除數的........(我仔豬下豬下, 佢都係尋日interview, 又無講要計數wor)
我知有聽音樂, 叫小朋友跟拍子慢慢行lor!

Actually, not exactly is 'division', the teacher just asked my kid if there are three dogs in a houre, then 6 dogs will need how many houses.

In fact, my kid did not mention about listening to music.

我相信小朋友好enjoy個interview, 因為我個大少in o左幾間so far 都唔會主動講interview發生乜事....唔係話"唔記得"就係"唔想講"

昨天竟主動報料,又話聽老師講故事答問題,又去畫Pooh同Eeyore,跟住又去跟音樂拍子"跳舞"......不過佢就無講老師要佢計數

是啊,不過負責生命教育那位大聲了些,何主任最touch,比負責講對外交流的那位女副校長觸動我更多

就算另外一位教程的副校也很好,可能都是爸爸

My son recalled that there was a Q&A session for the whole group of applicants. Then there was also some sort of role play, he mentioned he chose a toy gun and "shoot" the other applicants. It apperas he was asked to be in the naughty corner twice!! So the chance is ........

Anyway I am sure he did enjoy the interview and love the school

What my kid said was:
1. 老師

用中文講故事後, 然後問小朋友問題, 最快舉手的小朋友答問題
2. he was being asked to read out one Chinese story book and one English story book.

考直資就係咁...........我有朋友當年放棄左直資offer, 之後自行入左喇沙 (高分不過未至於直入)

strange, rumors said is over 2500+. but if 1055 is the fact, then it's so much less than last year. last year was more....i guess the constant changing of principals affects quite a bit.

陣間又話上年走左廿幾個老師
今期變成2500份申請............
有時真係只可以用"啼笑皆非"黎形容

舊年數字其實無公開的, 我自己同學校8過, 約1200, 今年就校長自己講的(o係家長夜上講開新採用既sms系統, 要通知1055個申請人家長關於改面試日期)

上一個校長係就係在"校長"呢個位置上做了一年
但是由副校升上去
所以唔可以說做了一年
雖然,校長這位置很重要,但對一間已上軌道的小學,除非面對教改等重要變更
否則其實也不是太大問題,不要將問題無限放大
我始終欣賞學校的方向,只要現在這位校長能堅持下去,我覺得ok

rumors are very scary and they can distort the image of the schools. anyway, i love this school. I can feel that the teachers have hearts and unlike the traditional schools-push push push and asking parents to rely heavily on private tutors.

對, 任校長係由副校長升上去
錯, time flies, 我女入小一時任校長剛升校長, 轉眼已做左校長3年(06-07, 07-08, 08-09), 其間副校長的確有改變, 而家既吳副校長之前一直係主任, 謝副校長就係請返黎既(今年係第3年?)

學校話19/10會上網, 不過根據慣例, 信會早過上網, 所以我expect週5or6應該會有信..........(如果有好消息)

阿仔見過3間學校(其他兩間係男校),佢同我講只係鐘意呢間,因為呢間有斯文嘅男仔同溫柔嘅女仔

!佢好想去再玩多一次,希望可以啦!

我囡囡話 interview 果日有個男仔坐隔離，畫畫果時主動教我囡囡點畫

，自已畫完又吾交住，要等埋我囡囡至一齊交喎

不過，我覺得囡囡可能 in 得麻麻地（佢話有一半問題都答錯），只希望佢能夠大步“欖”過第一關！

另外好多謝 Charlotte_mom，佢俾左好多有用同準確既資料我地！

亞仔 in 星期日11號，佢話一入去:

1. 全部小朋友扮雀仔飛
2. 老師講故事(唔記得佢講個故事名...)
3. 做工作紙
(數字連線 - 1連去2，2連去3，3連去4.....)
4. 畫佢自己鍾意o既o野 (亞仔畫我喎)
5. 老師比幅圖佢睇(有架的士)，問佢而家有十個人，要幾多架車呀？(亞仔話答o左2架 - 我問佢係咪諗o左好耐，佢話老師一問完就即刻答，無諗好耐)
6. 老師又問今日邊個同佢o黎架？
7. 玩玩具槍(佢話佢無射其他小朋友)
8. 玩保齡球
(佢話有個小朋友整跌o左佢D 野三次，佢話唔想個小朋友玩，而個小朋友除o左整跌亞仔D 野之外，仲整跌其他全部小朋友D玩具，亞仔話佢係特登的。老師仲問個小朋友"使唔使同你家長講你同小朋友講 o左幾多次對唔住呀？" ~ 後來亞仔都有主動叫個小朋友一齊玩，佢同個小朋友講"你唔再整跌D野我就同你玩啦。")

跟住就走得啦!

小一標準120個位, 早幾年多人, 試過每班突1,2個, 都係120幾個位
