The recommendation letter can be sent together with the application form.

You may also bring a copy of the letter with you on the interview just in case.

Dear ian,

in your opinion do you think it is necessary to provide recommandation letter when applying K? Where on earth can a recommandation letter comes from for such a small child (except us writing them one?)  I am starting to think whole thing is crazy, I mean applying for k, should I just write a letter for the sake that everyone is writting one.......好無奈.......

Hi stinkyrabbit111,

Generally there shouldn't be need to write recommendation letter when applying for kindergarten.  So no need to worry about writing since writing it yourself have no points.

The reason some people may have recommendation letter is they may know some reputable person or someone directly linked to the school principal or something like that, and have a recommendation that they would want to increase their chances.

I think if apply for a competitive and reputable school, a portfolio and recommendation letter will be needed, in order to increase admission chance, but it is not a must and pre-requisite.  If your kid is placed on a waiting list, then portfolio or recommendation letter will be served as priority.

I would like to remind all parents that interview performance is certainly the main concern for admission.  Interview performance reflects that parents are willing to spend effort and time to teach their kids in daily life such as be polite.

In our adult world, we always like to think incident so complicated that increases pressure and burdern for both kids and parents.  We spend a lot of time on portfolio and recommendation letter/referral, why don't we spend a lot of time to teach our kids on motor skill (eyes and hands coordination) and recognition ability?
