英小唔同國際學校, 小朋友唔會唔識中文, 只不過可能同普通官津校比認識既中文詞彙有可能唔夠佢地多.

我自己覺得讀英文小學嘅問題當然係中文會差D啦，如果屋企有人中文好好，可以教到小朋友，咁咪無問題囉，不過而家D中文真係好深；相反，如果屋企有人英文好得，咁讀中文學校咪希望兩樣都好囉。

我有個朋友喺英國長大，廣東話係有口音嗰隻，老公亦係一樣，中文仲差過佢，所以我朋友一直好肯定兩個仔女會讀地道香港中文學校，等兩個都識中文。

另外有一個爸爸英文唔得，阿媽英文好得，美國人會以為同緊自己人講野嗰隻咁得，爸爸成日叫阿媽同仔女講英文，因為佢唔想仔女英文好似佢咁差，但係阿媽就驚仔女中文唔得，希望佢地讀中文學校。

所以，啱自己仔女讀嘅學校咪係好學校囉﹗

只係想講如果打算送孩子入英文小學，最好及早預備，否則小一時會比較辛苦。

It's all depend on your child's secondary school and major in the university.
If you like your child enter English Secondary School, it's better pick up English primary school as all the subjects like Maths in English.
My friend's son got a very good result in Primary, however, he's totally collapesed once he enter the English Secondary School.

If there is no transitional period in the secondary school, the school might be a bit too pushy.

All the top HK universities teach in English, no matter what major it is (except for chinese and chinese history, of course). Besides, english is used widely as the official language in many work places in HK.
For the sake of our kids, we should let them get used to an english language environment (spoken and written) as early as possible. Fortunately, children can pick up a second language easily while they are still young.

先考慮中學。在香港，受母語教學政策影響，大部分初中都是用中文做主要教學語言。因此如果選擇英文小學，最好選有一條龍英文中學的學校。如果有過往的大學入學率作參考就更好。

如果選只有直屬英文中學的學校，甚至沒有中學，就最好要有完全的把握可令孩子升讀英文中學，否則孩子讀英文小學，但升中文中學，就絕對唔係好事。

再考慮現時就讀的幼稚園是否以英語為主要教學語言之一。如果唔係，就要準備日後升上英小時，家長和小孩都要付出多一點。因為很多考慮選英小的家長，在選幼稚園時，已有所準備，不是到現在才考慮的。

Through-train schools may sound attractive to many parents. However, there are no schools in HK that will let them take a through-train to universities. Thus, we would always aim for the best possible schools for our kids at each stage so that they can stay competitive.

It may sound reasonable to avoid choosing an english primary school due to the concern that our kid may end up in a chinese secondary school. However, should we also avoid choosing any prestigious secondary schools because of the concern that our kids may not get into top universities?

升中和升小不同。孩子得確是應該選擇適合程度的中學，因為這才可保障他/她能進大學。

不要單看教學語言，這很危險。可以的話，多看過去的升學結果和成績。

好似我咁,英文水皮到飛起,但係Ｄ女都可以talk得下,

相信呢Ｄ例子,香港大把,

最緊要都係細路自己肯學,佢哋叻好多！

阿女在英小畢業, 她和同學們一般都對英文特別有信心, 對中文科不太感興趣, 當然是有例外的, 但不多.

但是要留意的, 反而英小學生上中學時, 萬一上不了英中, 那個時侯仲煩, 一般英小的maths, and General Studies, 淺少少, 好似我見阿女間中睇中文 maths 文字題, 好難入手, 佢跟唔明.

我朋友個小朋友之前係hk讀過某國際學校, 轉左去x立書院讀書, 最後返轉頭去之前學校, 因為佢地話x立書院中文好深..如果我有錢的話會選x立書院.

中文始終係我地母語, 係香港要學中文係唔難. 但係學英文始終要有個環境先會學得好, 學語言都係要"浸"出嚟, 所以讀英文小學係會有幫助.

Yes, I am very sure. I am a graduate of CUHK. Don't be misled by its school name. Today it is getting more international and almost all major courses are lectured in English.

This is true. But there is a rumour that some professors need to explain some concepts in cantonese as some of the students don't understand Eng well. Have you heard of that?
