For me, I would like to apply it through the School as School can have the record for my kid and show it on the school report on that year.

There is no difference whether you apply through school, music school, private teacher...

When your child gets the mark sheet, and certificate, you can always bring it back to the school, and the school will take it as a record.

Many of my students do it.
The only advantage you might have doing it through school is.... some schools pay for the application fee. (Some of my student's schools ask them to enter, and didn't have to pay !)

Most have to still pay, and via school's application, very often the school sets an earlier deadline for submission than the HKSMA set, because they need to group it all to submit.

無所謂架。不過，學校會留record，也可能會俾資助你。
不過，又會有家長唔想學校知咁多野。
都係視乎你的意願啫
