10 shields is not failed. you can read the instruction at the back. 10 shields can move to upper level...

oh, I saw on the back of the cert, if u ve 10 shields or above, can try the next stage. So I let her try the mover after she got 13 shields in starter. Moreover, that is one more silly reason, cos' the fee will increase 50 in Sept, so I let her try before that............ haha

my girl also got 14 shields in mover this july. but british council lost my cert. now i just hv a confirmation letter stating that my girl's result fm the hk british council. i bargain with their staff for so many times how urgent i need that cert for applying the primary schools. up till now they still under investigate my case and refuse to ask cambridge to resend the cert to me fm england. do u know how furious i am? i am so disappointed on such a big organisation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. anyone have
the same experience like me as i know i am not the only one.

想請問考 starters 係咪一定要識串
starters vocabulary list 內 A-Z 所有英文字, 因我見個 list 有些英文字都好深吓...而且仲係好多英文生字

Tks for the tips.  I have two questions:

1.  For the past papers, do you mean those freely downloadable from the BC's website?

2.  Were you like cmchang0927 who prepared for starters in 4 months while for movers 2 months only?  My kid is now K2 and i wish to draw up a plan (my initial target is to try starters next summer once he turns 5)

cambridge university press係出版社,british council無自己出,佢嗰度都係賣呢本,我係商務同大眾都買過.你去到書局問佢cambrigde starters/movers/flyers past papers,佢地自然會搵比你.有editions 1-6,每本有3個tests.你最好等書局做promotion,我試過有85折,真係平好多!

Better to buy the CD also as it is for the listening part of the test. I have bought some past papers and CD's for my son. He enjoyed very much listening to the CD's and tried the tests voluntarily. The result was very good. This will help him to get familiar to the way the examiner presents the questions and the way they should follow when sitting for the exams. I would suggest you share with other mothers, each mother buy 1 or 2 sets (as they have 6 sets for each level) and then share with each other. This will save some costs.

of course not, Movers does not has the age limit (same as starters, start with 5) but the child need to take Starters and got certain shields first. My kid attempted Movers in K2 too. You can call British Council to check for rule concerning the age.

my girl took movers in this july when she just turn into 5 years old and she also took flyer in august. u can take any level u like as long as the kid is over 5 yrs old when he/she take the exam.

So the method of preparation for the test is just doing past papers, spelling and listening to the CDs? The syllabus is already covered? Also my daughter is only 4 yrs old. Can she take the Starter exam? Pls advice. Thank you.

K2 Mover or K3 Flyer, if kid study in English or international KG. It is easy, if kid hand writing OK.

For English or Internation KG, speaking & listening can get full.
My kid is K3 Mover & P.1 Flyer, all is full, except writing.
My kid is P.1 boy.
KET is not difficult, my kid can complete in hour with 90% correct.
His problem is writing to slow and not clear.

I know some KG in kowloon tong, bring K2 /K3 kids to china centre for exam.

My son takes 14 shields in the Starters Exam when he was four years and three months old, but he had to take the exam in China.

He achieved full mark in Speaking and Listening parts, and i felt quite confident to get full shields if he retake it.

Public Examination just a way to assess kid's ability, and honestly, i think it is not so difficult as imagine, on the contrary, i find it was quite easy for primary students indeed. ~

I know my daughter is small but she is K2 pupil in the coming September. I hope she will be going to my best of primary school next year. Of course the child's performance at the interview was of the most important part.
