My girl is now in P4 of a local school. I know it's a long shot but I want her to switch to IS Secondary. When should she apply for it?

I am targeting at GSIS. I know I should do it ASAP but on the other hand I wish to give her a bit more Chinese in the primary. She is scared of Chinese language. Do you know what does GSIS's entrance test include? Written English, Maths, oral english?

It's difficult to tell as we do not know which IS you have in mind. But, in general, perhaps it's a good idea to apply as soon as possible. It's because good schools are usually difficult to get in. ...

what about aiming at the coming new schools who got allocated for lands last months?

I have the same situation as you have, my son is studying at P4 now, and I want him to swift to IS now even the school calender has already been start. I also want to know is it ok when my son studying at IS at the new environment and can he easily get along with the curriculum?( He is studying at English Primary School now and his standard of English is OK but oral is not native. I am afriad that he wants to go back to the original school if he feels it difficult!

Urgent for any comments!!

My girl is the same, good Maths and English (but not native). She is happy with her school and she's afraid that she wlll lose her best friends (as adults we know that's true). I don't want to lose those mama friends made in her school neither.

That's also one of the reasons I don't want to hurry up and push her. I hope to have some time to talk her into it. Besides, there will be some classmates leaving at the same time to other IS. Hopefully she will feel that she's not alone.
