請問有冇人可email hyperlink 有關St Francis Xavier (Tai Kok Tsui) 以往公開試之results record (no matter it's F.5 or A-level) 或"入U率"之類information. I couldn't find that on Internet.

Nicholasmom thank you very much. Does your son study in SFXC? Was the results (F.5 / F.7) really better than Wah Yan Kowloon? And how do you comment between the 2 schools pls?

If you are a frequent reader of this forum, you will find lots of thread saying that the adamedic result of WYK dropped significantly in the past few years. The school did not announce the public exam results in the recent years. The lastest result I have in hand was for the year 2006 which was found in the 07/08 guide published by Ming Pao.

HKCEE 2006

You can see that, for the best students, WYK students can get a better exam results. However, the average passing rate is poorer than SFXC.

For my comment in the 2 schools,

1. WYK is a famous old school. It have more than 80 years in History and even the academic result is dropped in the recent years, it is still in the top 10 chart of the famous school (different survey by CUHK and HKU).

2. School Campus. WYK have a school campus of 42,000 sq m. It is open daily from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm while SFXC only have 3,300 sq m and the opening time is 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

3. Learn and Teaching. SFXC uses a traditional teaching method. There is a test in every 7 day cycle wich will count towards the whole year result. WYK is free to learn. There is only a few homework and tests. The student have lots of free time and they did not have any pressure. Some parents even said that the teacher in WYK did not teach the textbook.

My opnion is that WYK is only suitable for those students who have a good foundation and are self motivated. If you kid needs external drive to learn like mine, WYK is not suitable for you.

我20年前在SFXC畢業,當年會考學校只準報8科,所以從來無出過10科狀元,但整體會考都有好成績.唔知而家係點樣?
