My son use the baby can read is good, he is two years old, when he see the some word, he understand the word meaning

really eifficient but you should watch with your kid together and react to the show.

bb由8mth睇到15mth左右, 識咗大部份裡面d字就睇其他教材喇..
覺得好work! e+26mth, 識讀d佢未見過嘅字, 睇到reader, 可以自己讀出嚟~
e+我教緊佢用字母板拼字~

我囡囡10個月大時已經買比佢. 宜家已經13個月大啦. 每日都放2次DVD佢睇. 反應都幾好. 有許多字問佢都會指比你睇. eg. eye, ear, nose, mouth, tougue, toes, arms, arms up, head, bye bye, waving, clap etc....
估唔到我地預期的效果更好.

我bb都用Your Baby Can Read，我覺得幾好，13個月已認得好多字，你show張card俾佢，佢會做動作或指住物件，依家15個月，識讀一些英文字 ... 總括而言：平靚正

We use this for our babies too. Started on and off since they were about 10months old Now they are 19 months. They can say many action words. Those they don't how to pronounce, they can point when they see pictures, etc. Very Very good! Do you know where I can buy the Flashcards?!

I bought the sets includes flashcards and books thru Mi-Kids last year when I was pregnant. My baby is now 9mths and I use it on & off with Disney. I cannot say good or bad as she doesn't response my question much at this moment. In my mind, I feel every learning tool has their own selling point; the important point is how to make good use of the materials to teach ours babies. I'm more interested in sharing with other parents about the teaching methods of using those tools such as DVD, Songs, Flashcards in "Cantonese" living environment.

但如果play 一d music 比佢, 佢就勁興奮wow,

每日1-2次
得閒睇吓字咭, 就係咁簡單!

You can try to hold her and watch the program together. Also try to act out some of the words together with your baby. That will make it more interesting for the bb. I just bought some sliding cards from BB Expo. They look confused as to what to do too. Must "add oil" to teach them

My son started the materials since 3 months by watching the DVD once daily and I started to play the word card with him around 9 months. He showed the actions / pointed to the body parts / took the correct toys while I showed him the cards at around 12 months.

He's now 17 months and he's not watching the DVD anymore. But I still showed him the cards once in 2 days to refresh his memory. I found this really useful and works really well!

Would you share what tools do you use to teach "字母板拼字" ? My son also watch the your baby can read DVD since 1 years old. He is now 21 months and I would want him to learn 拼字. Thanks.

I also let my boys to watch YBCR since they were 5 months old; they're now 18months la. Though it's kind of brain wash style, it does work very well. My boys learnt a lot of words and action after watching it. They do watch it everyday and they love it....also they know which word to be shown next before it actually pop up the screen.

Now I'm showing the PTW version of YBCR (it's not from YBCR but the style is more or less the same) called, 寶寶學漢語, also quite good and effective. My boys only watched twice they can point to their eyes, ears, nose, mouth when I speak in PTW.

之前有個朋友送左呢套YBCR俾我，我個仔5個月大就開始睇，宜家睇左3個月，佢未有啲咩反應，不過唱親兒歌或者聽到YBCR片頭既melody就會笑，其他部分佢都坐定定咁睇。

由於朋友只係送左VCD俾我，我冇其他輔助教材，我唸住自己喺屋企print啲字出黎同佢玩吓。

我阿仔16個月先開始睇，每日睇一次，效果好好！
會跟住做動作，跟住讀。
2歲前已經識得片入面大部份生字。

不過建議早啲 (6個月大) 開始睇，效果可能更好！
有些畫面比較單調，太大個小朋友可能唔會肯坐定定睇。

My baby is 10 months' old. I have used YBCR for 2 weeks, and she recognizes some words, like arms up, wave, waving... When we say arms up, she really puts her arms up. Super interesting. We only play the DVD twice everyday.
My baby girl is super active and never wants to stay in a place for a second, but when we play the DVD, she sits properly and watch it without moving around. I think it's worth. The only problem is you have to watch together with her and to be patient because for the starter video, you have to watch it for a month.

Does anyone know after watching all the dvds, do i need to repeat from the starter video to the review? or just stop watching the dvds. My boy started watching since 3 months old and now he can do only clapping and arms up.

I think so, what I do is I randomly show all DVDs on a daily basis, today is the starter, tomorrow is 2nd, etc etc....keep repeating all to achieve the best result. My boys remember what word comes next befor it actually shows up on screen now...they still like to watch though ~

twinsmummy, I didn't do anything special to make them recog and say the words. They just do it themselves somehow. YBCR has some sort of attractiveness that most of the babies do love to watch, and won't lose interests even keep repeating and repeating.

My boys learnt quite a lot there apart from songs, like animals, their body parts and some actions. I gave up the sliding cards as they would take it from me and slide by themselves...

I also use Your Baby Can Read when my son was 20 months old (now he is 2 years old), I started with the Lift-A-Flap Books (I read all the word with him and he will follow me to read), now I revise all 5 books with him everyday and when he see the word "eye" he will say it out....He is not interested in the DVD, everytime when I ask him "let's watch Your Baby Can Read" he will say "No" I want Noddys....

My daughter is 9 months old now.  She just started watching YBCR DVD 10 days ago.  At the first few times, she couldn't sit properly and watch the whole DVD.  These few days, seems better and can watch it all to the end.
When I back to home after work, I'll play with her the sliding word cards and Lift-A-Flap Book.  But she always can't concentrate...
Also I only showed her the DVD once per day as not enough time everyday....  Not sure if it will affect the outcome....

My baby have used it since 6 months old. He is now 19months and he know many words. I bought all the materials from Yahoo auction including the DVDs, slide cards and slide book. It's only cost $1500 and it is really worth. Now I use the English Time and sometimes I will play the YBCR to remind his mind.

I've remembered that in the beginning, he only watched and did not have much reaction. But don't worry, the result will show up when he grows up.
Thus, for those mummy who still using it, keep up and don't give up. Let them to watch every day. Smart baby will be found soon!!!

My boy is now 19 mths. He started to see the DVD few mths ago but after a few times, he is very resistant to see it (possible he does not like one of the characters there) but he still likes the cards and book. How can he overcome the fear of seeing the chimpanzee maybe?
