me also! 應該唔會比Deposit on 1 Dec, 09,　但考慮緊比唔比那張期票$7,300 for Sep 2010 school fee! 因可以stop!

If you do not pay the deposit, they would not reserve the seat for you. And you do not need to pay the school fee cos you no longer have the seat by that time.

我明白，我的意思係比了張期票，可以考慮到DEC09前做決定（因為在DEC09前應該有些私學或直資學校完成了面試），如決定讀便比deposit，如決定唔讀就stop張期票！

先比一張$7,300的期票for Sep2010 school fee，到 01Dec09前要比deposit $14,600，即共要比$21,900

What is the deadline of paying the deposit? It should be mentioned in your acceptance letter.

If you are asked to pay the deposit by Sep 09, then I don't think they would accept the post-dated check cos you are effectively not paying anything to secure the seat. Of course, you can always ask the school if they would accept a post-dated check for deposit. But I think the chance of accepting post-dated check is very slim.

I think you may consider sending the check right before the deadline instead of sending the post-dated check early. In that case, you can save the bank fee for stopping the check if you have decided not to attend VSA before the deadline.

The deadline was mid-Oct last year. They might have changed the 'strategy' this year

You are much better off in that case
